Browsing through a Rock Files I saw the name Dooley Silverspoon. Had no idea what that was, thought it might have been a prog rock session group, but on googling I see that it's down as northern soul. It's more Philly though. Released in Britain on Edward Kassner's Sevillé label, the successor to his President Records, which topped the charts via The Equals.

Who?! I don't recall them in the slightest - this and their other top 75 single completely passed me by. Which is a bit of shame as I really quite like it!

Single week at number 40 in 2003. I remember liking their "This Is Where I Stand" album - which annoyingly doesn't seem to be on Spotify.

ManicKangaroo and his excellent new release schedule reminded me of this Top 70 hit from Heather Nova from 1994.

2wo Third3 'I Want To Be Alone' is a playful pop track, definitely a nod to Pet Shop Boys' style.

Katrina and the Waves - Is That It? (April 1986, #82)
Assuming pre-top 75 positions count, a minor hit that is nearly forgotten. A great mid 60s Stax pastiche that deserved to do much better. Follow up 'Sun Street' did make the top 40, peaking at number 22 in August 1986.

Skimming through 90's Techno today brought me to U96 "Das Boot". I also loved "Inside Your Dreams".
