Yea a decent chart and interesting how it differs to the main chart. I will be posting my next 1982 chart tomorrow, if everyone can do the same that would be brilliant.

That's really good but I think weekly will be hard. , I think if it was monthly we would regularly get 10 posters but weekly I think it will drop off

Perhaps I should have given you the chart of the "correct" week as that would have boosted Avalon. It was my highest entry at #9 in the chart I posted, the following week it climbs to #2, as you will see when I post that chart. I prefer it to "More Than This" which peaked at #6 in the UK chart earlier in the year. This one made a huge leap in the UK chart on its second week but then failed to progress any further going down on its 3rd week. I think "More Than This" did the same actually. Avalon features Marcella Detroit on guest vocals too, and of cousre Siobhan Fahey was having hits with Bananarama at this time. I think between "Really Saying Something" and "Shy Boy" at this point.

Maybe we'll continue for a couple of more weeks and if it drops off badly, PLAYER will consider doing it monthly.

I am posting the chart that follows the one I posted last week
1(1) Soft Cell - Torch (3rd week at #1) 2(9) Roxy Music - Avalon 3(2) Madness - House Of Fun 4(-) Shakatak - Streetwalkin' 5(3) ABC - The Look Of Love 6(10) Odyssey - Inside Out 7(4) Tight Fit - Fantasy Island 8(5) New Order - Temptation 9(6) Adam Ant - Goody Two Shoes 10(13) Steve Miller Band - Abracadabra
11(7) Duran Duran - Hungry Like The Wolf 12(-) Dollar - Videotheque 13(-) Captain Sensible - Happy Talk 14(8) Yazoo - Only You 15(19) Stevie Wonder - Do I Do 16(14) Charlene - I've Never Been To Me 17(-) Queen - Las Palabras De Amor 18(11) Echo & The Bunnymen - The Back Of Love 19(12) Kid Creole & The Coconuts - I'm A Wonderful Thing Baby 20(15) Genesis - Paperlate
Roxy Music flies up from #9 to #2 with Avalon but whether they can take the #1 will probably depend mostly on whether or not they can hold off Shakatak who enter at #4 on the back of having had a #1 with Night Birds earlier in the year. Roxy Music's previous single "More Than This" peaked only at #11.
The 4th and final single in the run of Trevor Horn's produced Dollar enters at #12 as the second highest entry.
Happy Talk dates back to 1949 and comes from Rodgers & Hammerstein's musical "South Pacific". One of a few classic "old" covers that will reach the chart over the next 3 months, the earliest I think dating back to 1929 plus 3 songs from the 1960s redone.
Regarding previous Rodgers & Hammerstein hits to reach the UK chart, of course "You'll Never Walk Alone" has a been a UK #1 before. That was from Carousel (1945) and was also written by Rodgers & Hammerstein and Vince Hill had reached #2 in the UK chart with "Edelweiss" (The Sound Of Music, 1959).
Queen a bit off form. Scraping one week in the chart at #17, this will not progress any further. A moment of theirs best forgotten.

Well done guys, a decent number of charts coming in, it will be nice to see how the Combi chart flows each week. I myself don't have access to numbers 41-75 but I know other posters do so I would be grateful if someone can post those positions each week to help people compile their charts. A shame they were removed from the net as requested by OCC, now I would have no issue with this if the OCC site gave us 41-75 but what a surprise it doesn't.
