This thread is a first part of my personal series "Don't deserve to be forgotten". I will represent my favourite retro singers (from 60s to 80s), which don't have many fans now, but deserve much more attention to their discography.
Very underrated and the one from my all-time favourite singers Twiggy is a good first selected artist for this topic. Do we have any another her fans on this forum ?
Some her best songs :
"Rings"
"Fallen Angel"

Great idea for a thread.
Twiggy was regularly on Saturday night tv during the 1970s, but (before reading this thread) I couldn't name any of her songs. Despite all the help she received from the BBC, I see she only scored one hit - Here I Go Again.
Of the songs you posted, I like "Rings" the most. But not so much that I'll be seeking out a Twiggy LP anytime soon.
I'm looking forward to your next selection, as I know your taste in music is very different from mine, so you'll frequently be picking acts that I don't know well.

This perhaps sums up why she is best forgotten. She had chance after chance after chance to have a hit but they all failed. Why so much investment in her? Prime example of someone trying to turn a sleb into a superstar because of who she is rather than what talent she had.
"Falling Angel" sounds to me like a parody song. Or something someone would concoct today for a drama set in 1975. Very Abigail's Party. The other seventies songs are even worse. Lounge music at its direst.
She had one great single though...
...although given her singing voice tends towards the karaoke shouter that's probably in spite of her rather than because of her.

Twiggy was arguably the prototype celebrity person who was famous in the media for being famous. Her voice was so ridiculously weak it makes Cheryl Cole's vocal talent seem like Dusty Springfield, and her thespian abilities were so mediocre she makes Madonna's acting talent seem like Barbra Streisand, becuse she was stunningly attractive. However, she is still able to get work even today: www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b077rchk

In my opinion she wasn't worse, than Cilla / Sandie and could reach their level of popularity. But it wasn't second half of 60s anymore.
70s obviously was very bad decade for British female pop singers. Peoples didn't have any interest in their music and were obsessed with glam, rock and disco.

Both her 70s LPs ("Twiggy" and "Please Get My Name Right") is a nice present for hardcore fans of British pop female singers.

That "A Woman In Love" was then such a big hit for the Three Degrees not so long after shows it wasn't simply that she was doing the wrong songs.
Although at the time, it was my primary reason for not liking her music. That one however was the only one I did mildly like and had taped the edition of TOTP in which she did it so I was very familiar with the song.
That she was modelled as so bean-pole of course didn't do any favours to women. Not that she's in any way to blame for what happened to Karen Carpenter or Lena Zavaroni, or the many non-celebrity women who suffered from anorexia.
