I see some of their tours dates are being mentioned on some Bauer radio stations, will be interested to see if the local Bauer stations decide to play it.
Perhaps giving radio 2 the exclusive may put off commerical radio, maybe getting the difficult stations like Capital and Heart on board may have been better.

Count me in for this - I may not be able to make tour this time, but am looking forward to new material.
V. Excited...

The fact that Benny & Bjorn from Abba have written their new album makes me feel quite excited for this.

OK, so I've checked out the 12 tracks tracklisting for Tears on the Dancefloor, I'm very disappointed they've missed the golden chance to cover the best Steps track never recorded by them in their absence: As for the Benny & Bjorn track, if I'm putting 2 + 2 together and getting 4, then that is not the original written for Steps, that the press release is implying: www.youtube.com/watch?v=NkokZH00lfs

twitter.com/hashtag/ScaredOfTheDark?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5EtfwIt isn't quite the pop classic they needed but it is classic Steps, sounds a bit in some places like dance mix of Unbreak My Heart by Toni Braxton and you can hear ABBA in the tune They are doing themselves no favours by not putting it on Youtube and blocking anyone who tries to upload it they need all the exposure they can get in the current music market.

Well it goes without saying, that I absolutely love this. Pop classic, no - but exactly what I was after.
Now why didn't they do this last time round, rather then that half baked Christmas/winter album.

I heard this on radio 2 this morning not expecting too much... but I'm pleased to say it surpassed all expectations. Unfortunately I can't see it being a big hit in this streaming age.

This is brilliant - bring on the album!
Would have been massive in the late 90s.
Unfortunately in today's climate it will struggle for success.

Only one track is written by Benny and Bjorn and it wasn't written for Steps like some media is reporting, but it's a song written years ago which Steps are covering. It's called Story Of A Heart. It must be the same one that appeared on the album of the same name by Benny Anderson Band in 2009. It was also released as a single.

It is, and it will also appear on the new album by Brian May & Kerry Ellis

Sounds very Eurovision. Should be our entry😃 Whoever missed this opportunity needs a very stern talking to. I cannot count the amount of times I have listened now, but frankly this is a triumph. The key change!!!!

I'd expect they'd be a friend of the dark at their age...

Like Smurfie a lot of people angry this is not the Eurovision entry but apparently Clare says they wouldn't enter it is too political and they have been approached before to do it.

I'm not surprised they refuse to do it. We won't win with anything or anyone anymore but it would still be nice to see them participate with a good song. They are perfect for it. But they have no reason to tarnish their great successful legacy toward the end of their career.

Love how this track opens - definitely a grower. Whatever happens in the chart, the shows will sell out
