Saw the 2nd half of Ronnie's QF against Kyren Wilson last night where he somehow came from 3-1 down to win 5-3. Plays Trump in the semis.

Judd Trump wins the World Grand Prix, beating Jack Lisowski 10-7 in the final. Lisowski fought back in the second session, closing to 8-7, having trailed 7-2 at one point but Trump won two frames in a row to seal his 20th ranking title. Lisowski joins David Gilbert in holding the record for most ranking finals without winning one, having appeared in four.

In terms of rankings, Trump extends his lead at the top to over £800,000. Lisowski is at 14 but moves up to 6 on the one-year list, with the top 16 on that list qualifying for the Players Championship in February.

Next week's Masters will now take place in Milton Keynes, rather than at Alexandra Palace, in order to have maximum Covid protocols in place.

Surprised Gary Wilson hasn't been suspended after lashing out during the week.

Assuming you're referring to the incident against Higgins, it takes a lot more than that to be suspended. He might still get a fine but nothing more, especially as on his next shot he deliberately left Higgins an easy red that he'd been denied by him smashing the cue ball.

Tbf the red he played should never have jumped back out. I understand the frustration. But the red he lashed out on was an amazing pot in top corner triple.

I'm finding it somewhat amusing that the next reserve in line to play in case of a positive Covid test is Ali Carter, who doesn't believe Covid actually exists.

Quarter-finals: Stuart Bingham 6-3 Shaun Murphy Stephen Maguire 5-6 Yan Bingtao David Gilbert 6-5 Kyren Wilson John Higgins 6-3 Ronnie O'Sullivan
Semi-finals: Stuart Bingham v Yan Bingtao David Gilbert v John Higgins
A great match between Higgins and Ronnie, featuring five centuries in a row between the two of them, including a 145 from Higgins. That was the third time today a new high break was set, after Maguire and Yan both did it this afternoon.

Semi-finals: Stuart Bingham 5-6 Yan Bingtao David Gilbert 4-6 John Higgins
Yan ends Bingham's reign with his third 6-5 victory of the week. At 20, he is the youngest Masters finalist since Ronnie O'Sullivan (who was 19) in 1995.
Higgins reaches the Masters final for the 5th time (having won twice and lost twice) but this the first time since 2006.

Meanwhile, the Pro Series got underway today. It consists of 16 groups of 8 players, playing a round robin with best-of-3 frames matches. The top 2 in each group progress to the next round with 4 groups of 8 and the top 2 there go through to the final group. It's not something I'm particularly excited by as it's effectively a glorified Championship League with ranking points on offer. 8 groups are being played this week, then 8 more in March, followed by the latter stages. Stephen Hendry intended on making his comeback in this event but only if he was drawn in one of the March groups so he could get some playing time under his belt beforehand. He wasn't, so he withdrew and is now looking at the Welsh Open as his possible comeback ahead of taking part in the World Championship qualifiers.
Joe Perry and Xiao Guodong were the two qualifiers from today's group.
