Day 10: KYREN WILSON 9-13 STUART BINGHAM ANTHONY McGILL 11-13 JUDD TRUMP NEIL ROBERTSON 12-13 JACK LISOWSKI NOPPON SAENGKHAM 7-13 JOHN HIGGINS A 147 for Neil Robertson but the tournament favourite goes out after losing this year's first final-frame decider. He is the fourth person to lose a match at the Crucible after making a 147. The other three were Ronnie O'Sullivan against Marco Fu in 2003, Stephen Hendry against Shaun Murphy in 2009 and John Higgins against Kurt Maflin in 2020. It's the second Crucible maximum in a row for which Ben Williams was referee. He joins Terry Camilleri and Len Ganley as referees who've officiated more than one Crucible 147. All eight 2nd Round matches were won by the person listed second in the draw (though BBC's score captions don't always reflect this). Yan Bingtao and Jack Lisowski are through to their first Crucible quarter-finals, leaving Zhao Xintong and Luca Brecel as the only seeded players from this year to never make the last 8. Some news from WST boss this afternoon:
The format of the UK Championship will be changed from next season, becoming a 32-player tournament, with the top 16 qualifying automatically and 16 more coming through qualifying. The prize for the winner will increase to Β£250,000.
Ken Doherty and Stephen Hendry have been awarded new two-year invitational tour cards. Hendry has had one for the last couple of seasons but hasn't played much. Doherty was awarded one a few years back and actually got back into the top 64 so he was no longer using an invitational card. Jimmy White and Marco Fu are also currently on invitational cards that are due to expire next year.

Day 12: YAN BINGTAO 11-13 MARK WILLIAMS STUART BINGHAM 8-13 JUDD TRUMP JACK LISOWSKI 12-13 JOHN HIGGINS STEPHEN MAGUIRE 5-13 RONNIE O'SULLIVAN An amazing line-up for the semi-finals with the three members of the "Class of '92" joined by Judd Trump. Ronnie O'Sullivan was first through, sweeping aside Stephen Maguire. Ronnie reaches a record-breaking 13th World Championship semi-final. Maguire's exit means this is the first time since 2018 that the semis don't feature a qualifier. O'Sullivan will face John Higgins, who won the last two frames to come from behind to beat Jack Lisowski. Higgins reaches his 11th Crucible semi-final. Judd Trump won eight frames in a row to come from 8-5 down to beat Stuart Bingham 13-8. Mark Williams won a nail-biter against Yan Bingtao to become the oldest semi-finalist since Ray Reardon in 1985. This is the first time all three members of the Class of '92 have reached the semis in the same year since 1999. If O'Sullivan beats Higgins we're guaranteed a final we've never had before as he's never faced Williams or Trump in the final. However, if Higgins wins, we're guaranteed a repeat as he's faced both Williams and Trump in the final. Semi-final records at the Crucible: Williams won 4, lost 2 Trump won 2, lost 2 Higgins won 8, lost 2 O'Sullivan won 7, lost 5 In terms of rankings, any one of Trump, O'Sullivan, Higgins or Mark Selby can end the season at no.1. The only way Selby can finish is no.1 is if Mark Williams beats Higgins in the final. Trump or O'Sullivan would definitely be no.1 if they win the title. Higgins finishes at no.1 if he wins the title, beating Williams in the final. If Williams beat O'Sullivan in the final. O'Sullivan finishes at no.1. If Higgins beats Trump in the final, Trump finishes at no.1

Interesting that Higgins' semi-final record is far better than the other three. Yes, he's won seven in a row, though went on to lose in the final on the last three occasions he got there. O'Sullivan's record is clouded by his earlier career, losing four of his first five semi-finals, before going on to win six of his next seven. Each player's record in the final is as follows: Williams: P4 W3 L1 Trump: P2 W1 L1 Higgins: P8 W4 L4 O'Sullivan: P7 W6 L1

If Trump and Higgins meet in the final, it will be only the second time two players have met in a Crucible final three times. The only other pairing to happen more than twice in the final was Stephen Hendry and Jimmy White, which happened four times in 1990, 1992, 1993 and 1994.
O'Sullivan's seven finals have been against six different opponents. Ali Carter is the only player he's faced in the final twice. Steve Davis had a similar record with his eight finals coming against seven different players. Joe Johnson was the only player he faced in two finals. Stephen Hendry played in nine finals against five different opponents, facing Jimmy White four times and Peter Ebdon twice.
All four of Mark Williams' finals have been against different opponents.

Day 13:
Mark Williams 1-7 Judd Trump John Higgins 4-4 Ronnie O'Sullivan
Judd Trump opens up a big lead against Mark Williams as the semi-finals get underway. Williams had a poor session and Trump was able to pull away without being at his best. All square in the other semi with John Higgins winning the first three frames before Ronnie O'Sullivan pulled it back to 3-3, with the final two frames shared.

Day 14:
Mark Williams 11-13 Judd Trump John Higgins 6-10 Ronnie O'Sullivan
A thriller in the first semi-final with Williams winning six frames this evening, to come from 12-5 down, to only trail by two overnight. The second semi is looking more one-sided with O'Sullivan taking advantage of an out-of-form Higgins, whose top break of the afternoon was just 58, to open up a four frame lead.

It looks like that Ronnie O Sullivan lookalike/imposter of the afternoon session has gone away, and normal service has been resumed.

Been busy over the bank holiday weekend so getting caught up.
A shame the final wasn't as competitive as we were hoping. Trump lost it last night and despite giving himself a chance this afternoon it was still a tall task. O'Sullivan becomes the oldest world champion and equals Stephen Hendry's record of seven titles. It's his 21st triple crown title.
The last 15 matches of the tournament were all won by the player listed second in the draw.
