Save Me is a great Fleetwood Mac song. I could never understand why it wasn't a hit, especially when it was the lead single from the follow-up to the incredibly successful Tango In The Night album.

It is a bit of a mystery but Seven Wonders and 2 other singles from Tango in The Night failed to trouble the top 50 in 1987/88 then As Long as You Follow from there best of also failed to go top 50 so it does seem to me apart from mega hits like Everywhere and Little Lies, there average fanbase by the 90's was only enough to get them around the top 50, probably deserved to be a top 10 hit though, just missed out on my top 10

Yeah, their singles generally didn't do that well. Seven Wonders, Isn't It Midnight & As Long As You Follow all deserved to be huge hits... Even the mighty Rihannon missed the top 40!!

Talk Talk score a number 1, it baffles me this song was released 3 times and only broke the top 40 at the third attempt, after a few weeks of no real challengers for the top spot we now have a 5 way battle between Talk Talk, New Order, Roxette, Billy Joel and Gary Moore although the latter might have peaked, Sacrifice by Elton John is the highest new entry at #16, one hit wonder MC Hammer enters the top 30, with the fun "U Can't Touch This", not sure how high it will go, its a bit camp even for me.
1. (3.) Talk Talk - It's My Life 2. (8.) New Order - World In Motion 3. (7.) Gary Moore - Still Got The Blues 4. (9.) Billy Joel - The Downeaster "Alexa" 5. (1.) The Downeaster "Alexa" is this weeks number 1, a song I have had on heavy rotation since I rediscovered it during Haven Factor, I had no idea who it was by until then! looks like the strongest top 10 since I started this which is a good thing despite the headache of who will be number 1, in #11 we have The Mission, a band I never knew existed until I started this so a nice discovery, pretty week weak for new entries though, I do like ELO frontman Jeff Lynne though, his solo effort is decent and a nice Bowie cover by Bruce Dickinson and Celebrate by An Emotional Fish is a nice find

June 24-June 30 1990
A second week at #1 for The Downeaster "Alexa", but it has some strong competition to hold onto the number 1 spot for a third week, Alannah Myles - Love Is is the biggest mover, up 11 places, not sure why it didn't do so well in the chart considering it was the follow up to Black Velvet. Highest new entry is rather unsurprisingly Unskinny Bop by Poison after Warrant got to #1 and Skid Row #3 in previous months, other notable new entries are super group Traveling Wilburys and if I'm not mistaken Aztec Camera were entered into Rock Idol

I love 'Listen To Your Heart' to bits, but 'Dangerous' is my favourite song on the 'Look Sharp' album - I'll never get why it wasn't a hit single in its own right.
