I must admit it took me a long time before I decided to embrace Spotify as I always preferred to own my music, but the amount of new music I've discovered since doing so makes me wonder why I didn't do it earlier. This 1969 Marmalade track came up on a playlist I was listening to the other day, and I haven't been able to stop listening to it ever since:

That song was #1 in my chart for 5 weeks!
I would have to look through my retro playlists and see what songs I really liked that I didn't already know.
Not sure what qualifies as "recently" discovered. I started my retro charts in February 2015 and have covered the entire 1960s plus 1970 and am a few months into 1971.
In particular as I cover the US chart as well as the UK chart there were many US hits I discovered that I had never heard before.
Sky Pilot was clearly my "discovery" from the year 1968.

This is my most recent old song discovery, how this past me by at the time I have no idea. Total grunge anthem.

Right now doing my Retro Chart (offline) in September 1986 .... a track I remember, but I did not previously know who it was by:
I always thought this was a minor Robert Palmer hit or a flop solo single by ex-Bauhaus Pete Murphy.

Marmalade's Reflections of My Life is one of my all time favourite songs, always listen to it when I am feeling a bit down.
I recently came across this song I used to listen to a lot in 1975, Fool by Al Mathews.
Who knew he was a Vietnam vet with 2 purple hearts, then he became an actor and appeared as Sergeant Apone in the film Aliens.

Was just watching Phoenix Nights again and this song was on it. I do kinda remember it but not heard it in yonks. It was their only hit in the UK reaching #12 in 1987.

Wow okay so this is more thread-related. Their 1986 song "Right Between The Eyes" is great! Nice mid 80s feelgood vibe. Just discovered it.
