And, by a strange coincidence, tonight's referee was also the referee in England's previous qualifying defeat.

Finland look set to qualify for their first ever international tournament! Any other nations about to break their duck?

Playoff teams as it stands: Switzerland Iceland Israel ** Northern Ireland ** ------------------------------ Bosnia & Herzegovina Wales Slovakia Romania ** ------------------------------- Scotland Norway Serbia Bulgaria * ------------------------------- Georgia North Macedonia Kosovo Belarus * - could be moved into higher playoff path, depending on draw ** - could be in lower playoff path, depending on draw That's probably right. It might not be. It's really confusing.

Incidentally, if UEFA wasn't using the Nations League for the playoffs and simply used the 8 best 3rd place teams, the playoff teams as it stands would be:
Northern Ireland 6-12 (+1) Iceland 7-12 (-1) Switzerland 6-11 (+7) Kosovo 6-11 (+2) Slovakia 6-10 (+2) Serbia 6-10 (-1) Romania 6-8 (+4) Armenia 6-6 (-5) ------------------------ North Macedonia 6-5 (-5) Cyprus 6-4 (-8)

Permutations for tonight: Group A: - England qualify unless they lose and Kosovo win at Czechia - Czechia qualify if they win (Kosovo would go into the playoffs)
Group B: - Portugal qualify if they win Vs Lithuania and Serbia slip up at home to Luxembourg
Group H: - Turkey qualify if they avoid defeat at home to Iceland - France qualify if they match or better Iceland's result.
