Loads of great stuff on the telly at the moment and wondered if anyone else was watching it? The Capture was very good, Dublin Murders looks very good, and the other two are coming in Nov/Dec I think, although there are two War of the Worlds series, BBC and Fox doing the honours.

Telly, what's that? I joke but our freeview box has basically stopped working so we only watch Amazon Prime these days. We are, however, really keen to watch His Dark Materials so I'm sure we'll catch that on iPlayer or failing that, get the Blu-Ray when it comes out.

Having spent ten years of my life living in Woking, I'm glad to see that the BBC version of War Of The Worlds is being set in the right location at the right time. I have The Capture and the first two episodes of Dublin Murders saved on my set-top box.

I lost how far I got up to on The Capture. The first episode was excellent. My skybox went bellyup after ep 3 or 4.
I've started watching Dublin Murders. The leading man don't half smoke a lot of cigarettes - that's stuck with me more than the plot.

Maybe he's getting confused by the timelines and thinks he's in the 1980s, not the 2000s? Or it's just the Irish, loved seeing Varys in it, didn't recognise him with hair and glasses!

They must be reading this thread, and edited out the smoking 'cause there was less of it in the latest episode! It's getting a bit too twisty turny and just plain daft for it's own good, but I'm sticking with it for now. Weirdly I recognised Varys (but yeah what a master of disguise, and excellent actor t'boot), though I only watched Game of Thrones for 3 or 4 series. My brother watched the whole umpteen series of Game of Thrones (and regretted it) but didn't recognise him ! He's already given up on Dublin Murders after 2 eps. His wife watched 2 eps and has now gone on holiday but said not to record it for her while she's gone.
The last Irishy thing we all liked, was Blood (starring Adrian Dunbar).

Oh yeah Blood was good, bit weird as well. I wish there was an emoji for Jumping the shark, as that is what Dublin Murders has done, cover up someone being murdered and say she is still alive, and now Cassie is going to be Lexie, it was just absolutely ridiculous and as far as I could see, nothing at all to do with the dublin murders in the 80s or why the girl was killed in present day, so a silly unbelievable distraction! I'll keep watching though as I'm this far in now

Yes ! Cassie becoming Lexie is just not needed. And she's gonna go live with those students ? How does she know that her voice and accent is the same as the Lexie they know ?
I was impressed with the car crash flashback. That was done well. Eerie.

Wait! “War Of The Worlds” as in aliens observing us from a distance and then attacking in big metal machines “War Of The Worlds” and the dying out from a touch of the sniffles “War Of The Worlds”? Where can I see this, please? Netflix? I want to see this immediately.

Having spent ten years of my life living in Woking. My sincere condolences. Oh, so it’s a Day Of The Triffids type thing? I’m getting far too over excited over assuming what this series is all about!

I was bored by the latest helping of Dublin Murders, so much so....that I might not even tune in next week to see how it ends.

Where can I see this, please? Netflix? I want to see this immediately. BBC have just started an ad saying coming soon, the other version is on Fox I think? I'm sticking with it PCBear, and reading up about the books, I see the problem, they've mixed two books into one tv show, the Lexie storyline is a totally separate book!

Thanks Andy. I get Fox, but not BBC - I get BBC channels, but they are more mainstream compilation type stuff like endless Come Dine With Me, or Strictly, and X-factor and usually weeks behind. The new X-factor has only just started! It took me ages to hunt down things like Doctor Foster and I’m sure we are several series behind on Tasmaster.
Needless to say I’m very excited about it.

That's a bit loopy. They could have had 2 watchable series on their hands instead of this one mess.

I was reading a thread about Dublin Murders on an Irish forum. Someone said that it was like watching Scooby Doo on smack.

Has anyone been watching War Of The Worlds please? I’m terribly excited to find I can watch through the DSTV on my iPad so lined up for later.
No spoilers (apart from I’m pretty sure what is going to happen I think) - just testing the water to know if it’s worth watching.

I've been watching His Dark Materials I have read the trilogy, I'm leaning towards the books they are much better, its slowly getting dull at the moment.
Also started watching War Of The Worlds, which I found very good actually, its more of a love story of the two main characters, caught in a middle of a War situation.
And Andy the series on Fox is set in France as a Anglo-French re-imagining of H. G. Wells' classic in the style of Walking Dead follows pockets of survivors forced to team up after an apocalyptic extra-terrestrial strike.
