Being fifty million years behind on British TV here, this hasn’t started yet - but read some entertainment articles online and saw its getting really good ratings.
Is it really ridiculous but compelling watching as it is suggesting? Has anyone seen any of the shows? I understand the concept just not sure on what the fascination is (as yet, when no doubt I will watch all of them hooked to the screen, as it all sounds jolly silly).

I love it, I caught the US version when I was their on holiday and thought this would be brilliant for UK TV and a few days after I came back it was announced here The fascination is in the guessing and playing along with the clues and being shocked or smug when you guess or are miles away from guessing the person.

I love this bonkers show. Its like a cross between a singing talent show meets 3-2-1 with superb costumes. So far I'm fairly smug as I've guessed correctly 2 out of 3 of the eliminated celebrities. I mean how can you not enjoy guessing who on earth this is. My stab in the dark on week 1 proved to be correct: I could name right now who I think the remaining celebrities are, but that would spoil things. Until last night's sing off I was struggling to work out who Octopus was (otherwise I'm 70-99% certain of the identity of the others), but I think she gave some vocal clues to her natural vocal prowess to suggest so far she has been disguising/slumming her natural voice. All I will say is I think two of the remaining acts had a UK top five single together in 2007.
I'm glad to see it being the most watched show on a Saturday getting 2.5 to 3 times as many viewers as the last series of X-Factor in the same slot proving that the public have got sick of fixed contrived Simon Cowell talent shows; as his SCD rip off The Greatest Dancer is flopping hard on the BBC against TMS.

I don’t even know where to start with that clip.
A celebrity being paid to sing a Will Young/WestIife song on stage on prime time TV! Dressed as a tree! The panel referring him as Tree! The Octopus forlornly looking backstage in full costume at the monitor like they’ve lost to this performance! Rita Ora not knowing the words! We’re watching karaoke from someone who we don’t know dressed as a TREE!
Brilliant. Can’t wait.

I've been watching just the performances on youtube, and love it. I just wish the panel/judges mics were turned off while the act is singing.

I sat through one episode and that was enough. It was easily the worst TV show I've ever seen in my life.

I love it. A genuinely enjoyable and wholesome show that’s a lot of fun (only let down by how annoying Ken is). I’ve had no clue who each of the reveals have been so far but I’ve got my theories for the rest. Agree with Daz on Duck, and I’m amazed the panel/internet didn’t pick up on it sooner.

I currently think Unicorn is a former New York based popstar, who has recently starred in a well known multiple award winning Cyndi Lauper penned musical. Ironically, I'm pretty certain Lee Mead was once very close to another current un-Masked Singer .....
If you wanted more proof what a great show it is then ....

Not surprised with the idenitity of the two that went last night. The remaining ones i'm confident i know not about Hedgehog though
Fox - Denise Van Outen Queen Bee - Nicola Roberts Monster - Cee Lo Green Octopus - Katherine Jenkins
I'm leaning towards Russell Watson, Alfie Boe for Hedgehog

Hedgehog is Jason Manford Definitely.
The other four are nailed on as per Mark's predictions.
The one that took longest to reveal itself was Octopus, but the clues, along with her increasingly dropping in her operatic motifs have made that a sealed deal for me.
I personally hope when this comes back next year, with hopefully a longer run, they make the clues more cryptic (perhaps 3-2-1 style as they could hire Royston Vasey the Northern comedy writer who wrote the original clues of that Ted Rogers hosted show who later became far more famous for his foul mouthed auto-ego creation Roy Chubby Brown), as I was virtually certain of everyone bar Octopus after they'd each sung twice.

I had hedgehog as Jason Manford then switched to Alfie Boe based on vocals Saturday night...however the shared clip above has me back to JM.
