A day early (conflicted schedule this week). SPOTLIGHT (LINKS): #1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 12, 14, 15, 16, 17, 22, 23, 245, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31 (most others can be found on YouTube). Chart colors best viewed when logged in. DEBUTS: Micky More & Andy Tee lead the debuts with "Time" featuring Angela Johnson. Horns and brass instruments take control of the rhythms in this Contemporary House release. WOW, they turn the instruments into one, big, laughing BRASS sound several times! Someone has already come out with a (7:11 length) " Haven't You Heard" track for 2020. Alan Fitzpatrick starts his remake with a 2:45 Progressive House instrumental, build-up that ends with 4 lines of "I've been looking for you, Haven't You Heard." (we're calling that short edit Pt. 1). Part 2 pretty much follows the original Patrice Rushen classic with ornamentation thrown in and we've boiled that down to a tight 3:52. At first, I thought the longer edit was the better, but after listening more the SOLID instrumental beginning is where the action is. DJ Billy Brown & Lady S close out the debuts with the slap, happy (and campish) "Thank You". Although a tad slower than usual chart tracks, this enjoyable Contemporary House jam has an uplifting message that flows with the beat throughout. CHART TALK: Extra points for being on the official USA Club Chart are enough to move "Love Hangover" up 2 spots as it earns SUPER TRACK status (chart methodology below). Dance, Remake & Underground House Chart ON THIS BI-WEEKLY CHART
*Debuts enter at the bottom and are listed in order of strength. *Tracks are grouped together (like horses in a race). Tracks in one group/race can overtake those in another. *A track can jump.............by making a debut in the official U.S. Dance, Pop or Urban charts (SUPER TRACK). *Tracks are usually removed after 17 weeks, but can continue if a second/sister track steps forward.
