11 Community
I had to stop hear as this is a very complicated one. This is another US comedy in the Office style, this one was created by Dan Harmon. It centres around a group of students from 18 to 60 who decide to form a group to pass Spanish at Community College. So far so dull. But just look at the cast for a start. Joel McHale, Gillian Jacobs, Danny Pudi, Yvette Nicole Brown, Alison Brie, Donald Glover, Ken Jeong, Chevy Chase, and Jim Rash. I think wikipedia describes it really well It makes heavy use of meta-humor and pop culture references, often parodying film and television clichés and tropes.Sometimes it can just be a standard love triangle storyline and the next show it is a zombie outbreak at Halloween, it jsut never knwo what you are going to get. It is just so moreish. I love all the charcters even teh ones you are supposed to hate. Joel Mchale is probably my number one man crush. Chevy Chase is the funniest he has ever been. The chemistry between Donald Glover and Danny Pudi as the do their skits is just hilarious. And of course Alison Brie is the cutest ever in this show. Finally Ken Jeong is jsut his anarchic best as a Spanish teacher and then a student himself. I will just rave and rave about. Some seasons are way stronger than others but they are all worth watching, even the odd last one, no Donald Glover

Ok we are in the top 10, I have jumbled about the next 4 a few times
10 The Punisher
I love The Punisher and when he appeared in season two of Daredevil, I was like yes!! and brilliant casting Jon Bernthal, even better he got his own show!! So yes strictly speaking this is a Marvel superhero show but there is no superpowers here. Take away all the comic book trappings and its a show about a man who has had to deal with some awful situations and trauma in his life and he decides he will deal with the people who wronged him and bring them to his justice. But this isn't just Deathwish or John Wick, Frank does have a heart and he does want to do the right thing. What makes these stories so good, is how friendships change him and how Frank becomes a better person, still a lethal murderer but he does start to care and feel again and start to work more within the law. The choreography in this show in not like anything in a Tv show, it is top movie standards, the story telling is faultless. Juts loved it.

9 24
So hard to talk about this show now as it has been so long since I saw it. But it was event television like no other. Nothing like 24 had ever been made before. The events of a threat to the President take place in a 24 hour period and each episode is another 60 mins, even the ad breaks had to be counted in the time frame. Jack Bauer played by Kiefer Sutherland of course, found a whole new level of fame. He was maybe the first movie star to be a Tv star and actually be even more famous afterwards. This of course has become commonplace in 21st TV but 24 was where it all started. We wouldn't have Netflix Tv without 24, we wouldn't have shows like Lost, Game Of Thrones or Breaking Bad without 24. It was that groundbreaking, it changed TV forever!! Not every season is perfect, and some were very contrived but those first 4 seasons especially were brilliant and they were always worth watching, even the 24 that didn't have Kiefer in it. Probably my favourite show of the 00s, if I had compiled this list in 2010.

8 The Office USYes more comedy and such an unexpected success. Everyone thought oh they are making a Us version of The Office, it will suck. Well Season 1 was alright, not brilliant but pretty funny but it was maybe too close to David Brent. But then in Season 2 Michael Scott became his own thing, he just became more. Everyone became more, we stopped comparing them to their Uk counterparts and they were already starting to be funnier, cooler, more interesting etc etc Steve Carell's Michael Scott was still a tragic figure but the difference was we loved him, we wanted him to succeed but we could see the cracks all the time. I know this show is a huge commitment but it from Season 2 onwards consistently funny and so rewatcheable. even the theme just makes me full good. Sorry so many spoilers I don't care

7 Fringe
From the creators of X Files and Lost came Fringe. It seemed at first to just be another X Files knockoff but very early in the show, we could see it was just as good as X Files and its own special thing. The show's biggest strength was the 4 core characters and the secrets and mysteries in their relationships. Its another show in my rewatch list as I loved it so much. It did get crazier and crazier as the show went on, with alternate dimensions, doppelgangers etc but we all went along with the ride. Some how more real and a bit goreier than X Files but again I cant stress enough its the cast that make the show. I wish I could say more but its been a very long time.

We will have a gap now, with only 6 shows left, I think most will guess 4 of these. Any theories and guesses please do, as it may give me ideas of shows to watch!!

Only seen 24 out of these. For quite a while it was the best thing on TV. Incredibly addictive, compulsive watching. I can't remember if we ever saw the last season though. But yes, it was great. The format of having basically a 24-hour-long action movie where events happened almost in real time was just utter genius. After a few seasons you started knowing what to look out for - there would almost always be at least one mole, whereas there would be another character who looked shifty as heck but then it would turn out they were on Jack's side the whole time Those tropes maybe got a little repetitive but looking out for them was part of the fun! Really enjoyed many of the recurring characters - Chloe of course (of 'dammit Chloe!' fame), Edgar (his death was one of the saddest in the whole series ) and Bill and Karen who I also really liked. And some entertaining baddies!

As for what's coming up - I can think of 2 dead certs and a few more possibilities, but not sure what you've seen. If I'm not mistaken we still haven't seen the aforementioned Matthew Rhys show; I think I know what it is and if I'm wrong and this show isn't in your top 100 then I demand a recount

6 Brooklyn 99
Now we have it the funniest Tv show of the 21st Century. Another show made in The office style. Its kind of a comical version of shows like The Wire or NYPD Blue. Every character has their thing and everyone is funny in their own way. The first few seasons are constantly hilarious, its kind of silly humour not quite Naked Gun but still silly but at the same time as that, it again has characters who feel real, have their own issues, relationships and problems. The relationship between Jake and Amy, works better than any tv show I have ever seen. You know when two characters are meant to get together but the show keeps them apart and when they do, the relationship sucks and the show is worse, it always happens. Not on Brooklyn 99 it stays funny and you still care about them. Also the early seasons have a secret weapon with the comedy force of Chelsea Peretti who steals scenes every chance she can get. The current season is the weakest yet, retreadinbg a lot of old ground and just not as sharp as it used to be but it is still the best sit com on TV.

5 Breaking Bad
Well no surprises that this is in the top 5. Like most people I didn't watch it when it was first on FX, I saw the trailer and thought, woah that looks awful. Never has a trailer been so wrong, the buzz just got huge about it and then it became the first show I watched on Netflix. I am struggling to talk about this as I know everybody here knows why this show was so incredible. the character development, the villains, the supporting cast, the atmosphere, the performances. Just first class television. You just watch this greatest moments reel and the Walters don't even seem like the same person. It wasn't a perfect show some of the family drama was very irritating especially Skylar but I guess that had to be that way. But so many moments from this show will stay with me forever. Oh and this is all spoilers!!!

4 Stranger Things
From the first moment I heard about Stranger Things, I knew this would be a show I would love. Set in the 80s, inspired by Speilberg movies, starring kids and teens and its also has Winona Ryder in it. Everything is brilliant in this show but its the nostalgia that powers it on, even people who weren't even alive then still get nostalgia purely as they were brought up with movies like The Goonies, ET, Poltergeist and Gremlins. One of the most incredible things in the show is the music and the titles, just inspired. I was one of those kids, I play D&D, I cycled everywhere, I was a bit of a social outcast but these movies and the music of the time, got me through. Stranger Things has that for me as well. But its not just a nostalgia show for 40 somethings my oldest teen loves it and its one of his favourite TV shows, it just crosses generations. Oh and its pretty scary too.

The big top 3 and the third place goes to another cult show. many people never got to see how brilliant this show gets, they maybe watched the first few episodes and went meh, teen nonsense and switched off. They should have stuck with it.....
3 The 100
Yes the basic principle of this show is 100 kids who survived the Earth's Apocalypse are made to go down to the surface of the Earth, partly as an experiment. It starts as a Lord Of The Flies, Hunger Games type show were the kids battle with themselves and the environment but there is more to this world than they first know. Its very hard to talk about what is out there with spoilers but lets say there people alive still on the planet and some of those people are incredible. There will be conflicts, war, trauma, heartache and a lot of death. But its all about survivors and friendships, looking after each other whatever the cost, sometimes to protect the planet and other times just who they care about. The best network show of the 21st Century, incredible that this shows goes out on The CW. Please I implore anyone who gave up on this show or never watched, please do. Even if you hate teenagers, there will be plenty adults eventually and the kids are all about 30 now anyway. This was the show that filled my Revolution gap, I never expected it to be even better!! But I know the pilot is cheesy just bare with it, please.
Oh and for people who have seen it, lets have a Lexa reel!! My favourite character. Big spoliers.
OOOh after watching this reel just reminds me how epic this show was, I maybe did love it more than my #2 , well lets say the top 3 are very very close.

The show never really went down that path after hinting about it in S2. The one from 2019 or the one being screened in US right now? Its not quite the show it was and its right that is coming to an end but it still has some great moments even if it all feels a bit forced now. We can never wait for it to be screened on E4, we used to watch it on Canadian Netflix, now I have to download

I love The 100! Haven't seen the latest season yet though - is it the last? You speaking about it in the past tense makes me concerned One of the things I like so much about the show is it's one of very few shows on TV that actually understands how to do 'strong female characters'/women in power in a convincing way and not make it look like a box-ticking exercise. It does start like any other dopey teen drama but it gets so good after the first couple of seasons. Lexa was brilliant and I was quite sad about her exit - even more sad when I found out it was the actress' decision so she could focus on Fear the Walking Dead which, though enjoyable for the first couple of seasons, went off faster than the walkers in the Californian sun and is now t e r r i b l e I also quite like Octavia/Skairipa until the whole Red Queen thing... that was messed up. Interesting. But messed up. All of me for all of us. Ew.

Oh I think that might be the last season we saw too. In that case two seasons left for us as well. Another thing I really enjoy about it is the Grounder language in the few moments when they use it (less and less now, but a big feature of the first few seasons). Apparently the person who designed it is the same person who also came up with Dothraki. We did notice at one point that the Grounder word for 'pilot' sounds a lot like 'maverick'

Yes there was a season screened last year on E4, and treated very badly think they ended up sticking it on at 1am, and is due to be added to Amazon Prime very soon, if not already but the final season is half way through in the US. Yep bad choice switching to Fear but she maybe thought she took the character as far as she could go. Stopped watching Fear but from what I have heard, the whole original family is dead like wtf!!

It did get a bit OTTP with killing off characters, the main character now is the guy with the big stick from the original Walking Dead
