Love that Adele song would love it to be #1. Bruno Mars I also think is a likely contender.

Thanks for letting me know. Strange why MTV have them nominated for that 10 new acts for 2011 thing then if they can't get into the top 200, it's not exactly the best start.

Well you know what I mean girlgroups/girlbands... popgroup with girls in, it's all the same. But I shall change the title if it's less distressing for you.

So it was sort of the return of the boyband in 2010 (well kind of), if not new ones (The Wanted) older ones regenerating themselves (Take That & McFly).
So could 2011 be the return of the girlbands? Will The Sats get that #1 they desperately want? Will The new line up of The Sugababes be accepted? Will GA reform (I doubt it in 2011)... or will any of the new crop sneek in?
Wonderland.

I will have missed loads out probably, so feel free to add them in. So does anyone think any of them have a chance?
My thoughts: The Saturdays: If they release their 'Ego'/'Higher' as the lead single instead of the second one I think they will get their #1. And if they release a ballad in their campaign then they may begin to sell more albums, but I think they'll do roughlt the same as this year, have big selling singles but struggle to move the albums.
Sugababes: I want them to do well, but that's not really the same. If they come out with something like 'Rabbit Heart' then I think they have a chance, but they have so many people against them right now it's going to be difficult. However 'About A Girl' & 'Wear My Kiss' didn't do too badly on the singles chart so I do think theirs hope if the material is right.
Girls Aloud: I don't see them reforming in 2011, but thought I'd include them in this topic for those who think they might. If they do and they can get along I think they'll be bigger than before.
Wonderland: My personal fave. I have a good feeling about them next year, it's going to be about promotion though, the same for all the new acts, but I feel they have really strong material behind them so if the single choices are right I think and hope they'll break through. I think they will be the most successful in Ireland out of all the groups though...
SoundGirl: I'm getting a Mini Viva vibe from them - I like some of their material bit I can't connect with them as a band.
Parade: They have the same manager as The Wanted and who used to manage The Saturdays, so I think they will break through. Their songs are very catchy and radio friendly, but I think they could run into the same problem as the sats and find it hard to shift the albums.
The Ultra Girls: I love their cover of The Wanted. I'm not sure if they will make it, but would like them too.
Ruff Diamondz: Not my sort of music. I'm confussed by them though, the song in the video - was that already released in Nov? On itunes it says it was but I can't find any information about it's charting... did it completely miss the top 100? MTV have them on the 10 acts to look out for in 2011 though so if they get massive backing from music channels then maybe, but I personally don't think they'll have mainstream succes... maybe more like Phoenix.
What does everyone else think?

Love this song, 'Just The Way You Are' is brilliant but I think this has convinced me to buy the album when it's released.

I thought this was going to be Alexandra Burkes 'Silence' song. This is just stupid, I understand people rebelling against X-Factor, but atleast pick a song that would be good as a christmas #1, it's just going to make the top 2 tracks rubbish instead of just the #1. Pick a chistmassy song, or a newish song released in the last few months... or even any good song since the charts began, but seriouslt silence with coughs and splutters? No thanks. I thought these campaigns were because people thought X-Factor was ruining the charts... this is abit hypercritical don't cha think?

This is the first forum where I haven't seen people claiming it to be the best song of the year, it's quite refreshing.

Those who are knocking it as 'weak' or 'disappointing', should go to YouTube & listen to 'Safe', by Westlife - their New Single. It is not fit to be the 'B' Side of 'The Flood'. The Title of 'Safe', tells you everything you need to know about it. 'The Flood' will be No.1 - it is touch & go if 'Safe' will get there. You seem to say this on a lot of forums, I bored of reading it now. Slagging off other another song doesn't make this one any better. My opinion on this song: I adore the chorus, whos singing lead on it? I'm not keen on the verses but they may grow on me, I don't like Robbies voice so I think that is what is putting me off, but when I get used to it I'm sure I'll warm to it. I think it will go number one, JLS' is for charity though isn't it? It's going to be an exciting chart battle, but I do think TT will win on both single & album, both groups are looking like they are going to ride eachothers sales right up though.

I adore this song! To begin with I was like 'It's good' now I'm like 'It's AMAZING', deffinely a grower and I adore their vocies on the verses. Deffinely the best lead single by them since Unbreakable. I think they have a good shot at number one, I'm going to predict #2 though with the hope it will go number one. It will be amazing if they do get their 15th number one, it's deffinely better than the likes of 'Mandy' and 'The Rose' which both got there. WAN sold about 75,000 without a video and a massive backlash from Daughtry fans, this time round they will have a video and they won't be annoying other group fans, not directly anyway so I hope it will do better sales wise. *cross fingers* for number one. I'm also hoping promotion the week of the single is better than last year, they had X-Factor, GMTV & an interview on The One Show, as the album is the week following it promo should be more packed together than last year which should mean the first 2/3 weeks of sales are high, hopefully anyway. More than anything I want this to go number one so Louis' and Simons confidence will grow in Westlife doing originals, they already said they had to fight for this album to be all original I hope thats a fight that will pay off. I liked the 'unlock the door' part of the song that is in the songwriters version and one of the snippets on 'X-Factor', but it doesn't seem to be on the radio version.

Thanks for replying everyone. I really don't like the idea but I struggle to see how I'd resist buying it with my favourite artists as I like to have all the artwork, it's just a bug I have. I guess I'd buy my favourite member version and the collect the others over time, there would be no way I could afford to by all copies at once, but I'm almost certain people will. I just feel like it puts solo artists as a disadvantage and that doesn't seem fair to me, but then how could it even been monitored, if you only included the standard format towards to chart then that would be unfair because their is possibly people that would only buy the copy with their favourite member on and not the standard... but it does seem like it's encouraging multibuying to be which is against the chart rules... however, like someone said, I guess techincally they are just giving options and it's up to you if you take more than one of them. But could these pictures really not just be included in the original artwork booklet?

I just want to know peoples opinion on this, I don't how many artists have done this, just that JLS did it last year and The Wanted are doing it this year. For albums they are releasing it normally with the cover of the full group on it and are also releasing five alternative covers each one being a solo shot of a member of the group, yet the album itself is exactly the same. Do you agree with it or think it shouldn't be allowed?
I personally feel like it's ripping fans off. You could easily add the solo pictures into the standard booklet and sell is as a whole. Many fans are going to want the full collection or atleast the standard cover and the one of their favourite member, I don't agree with it, but I know I'd personally want all versions if either of my favourite groups did it because I'd like to have all the artwork. It just doesn't sit right with me, I also think it gives groups an advantage over solo artists, the more members you have the better your chances are too. It's so bizarre.

I'm glad they seem to regret stuff like the RatPack, but the tour they are doing now has seen them drop two of their original tracks, Reach Out and Unbreakable, so they clearly don't regret it that much, when so many of their covers are still there and they even added 'All out of love' back in as a mash up with one of their older originals.
It's a good job these lads comke across so well and seem really fun and kind and that Mark has one of the best voices in pop, because their singles are awful (albums are brill though).
