Another blow for football Not sure about that, Inter were also hit with a UEFA FFP charge in 2022 over transfer spending and are owned by a combination of puppet company Suning Holdings that is beholden to the Chinese government and a Hong Kong-based private equity firm, then a US asset management firm called Oaktree Capital Management loaned them £271m to help keep the club stable in 2021 (and will take over hte club if they default on the loans), followed by significant financial support from the Chinese government to clear debt. They would hardly have been the saviours of modern football if they had won that some of the media were banging on about, Inter are even dodgier than City in many ways, sadly that's football these days, there aren't many teams at the top that aren't proper dodgy, I found it odd everyone celebrating Newcastle getting into the Champions League, I mean there is renaming a stadium to launder your own money into your own club and there's blowing up school busses full of children and chopping up journalists....allegedly. I cant remember a final i had less interest in, maybe the Super League wasn't a bad idea, let all the financially doped teams compete with each other for the coin and let everyone else just play football in a league system with less money, greed and corruption
