2nd day of 2004 to be rained off, it means there'll be play on the Middle Sunday for only the third time in the history of Wimbledon Only a handful of third round matches in both mens and womens singles have been played and there are most of the doubles matches still to play. Federer-Johansson, Henman-Arazi and Roddick-Dent are likely to be the main attractions.

Yeah, so I assume they'll have the same schedule as on Saturday, but playing on Sunday? And they can catch up in the 2nd week, due to the way they organise it.

Imagine if there was some long torrential storm during Wimbledon season, where it rains for several days without stopping They'd have to put the tournament back a week!

Federer, Roddick, Henman, Hewitt, Schuettler, Moya, Grosjean and Phillipoussis of the men still left, Coria (#3) went out in Round 2 Ferrero, #6,was knocked out by Robby Ginepri, #29. In the women's, Serena's still in but most of the other top seeds have fell. Venus went out in controversial style due to an umpire's, who's now been sacked, wrong decision. As usual, all the Brits bar Henman have gone.

Yes, she lost 7-6 7-6, but I think it was second set the umpire gave a point which he shouldnt of done I believe, and neither player contested it so the result stands. The other player who's name I forget (I think she was Russian or Ukranian or somewhere round there) looked like she was surprised but didnt own up. I didnt see it, just saw it on the news.

Oh well, if Venus didn't moan about it at the time, tis tough luck!

Indeed lol, at least now we wont get the traditional Williams-Williams final!
Ivo Karlovic scalps another seed to set up a tie with Roger Federer in round 4, he beat #18 Feliciano Lopez today.
Bjorkman, #17 seed was beaten by fellow Swede Johansson in Round 3.
And #25 seed Dominik Hrbaty was knocked out by unseeded Mario Ancic.
Vincent Spadea, #30 seed upset the form book by KOing #8 seed Rainer Scheuttler, who KOd Greg Rusedski in R2.
Andy Roddick went through in 3 sets against fellow American Taylor Dent.

The Tim Henman game was great, a typical Henman match in some ways as he can rarely go through a whole match without jittering at some point! I'd expect him to beat his QF opponent, but then with the likes of Federer, Hewitt and Roddick still in the tournament it's going to be really tough if he's gonna go all the way!
