flintoff has done nothing but rest on his laurels since we won the ashes.
all out for 154 - in the end, england didn't even sit out the 50 overs. oh DEAR. short of some truly awe-inspiring bowling this is not looking good...

Flintoff is an absolute disgrace. He needs a real kick up the backside and perhaps dropping for a few games to give him time to get his head round his game again.
From the team that played in the World Cup, for one day cricket I would only keep Pieterson, Collingwood, Bopara and Panesar. The rest just aren't good enough and it's time to blood some youngsters who have the right ability for one day cricket.

I think it just highlights the gulf in one dayers between us and the aussies and south africa.

There must surely be some major changes now.
I think Duncan Fletcher's taken the team as far as he can so it's probably time for a new face as coach.
Michael Vaughan shouldn't even be in the one-day side, let alone captaining it. You can try and play yourself into form in tests because you have time to do so but you can't do that in one-dayers.
Flintoff shouldn't be allowed to bat any higher than 8 until he gets a 50.

Seconded, mrh. I think that if India and Pakistan had actually qualified for the super 8s, we may well have finished bottom. But at least we're not *quite* as bad as Ireland

You make it sound as if the England football manager has gone... However, the news was going to be on the horizon so no surprise there

England make a few changes for their final game...
Bell, Mahmood and Panesar out, Dalrymple, Plunkett and Broad in with Bopara batting at 3.

Certainly one of the best games in the World Cup so far, drama throughout the match! And also credit to Mr.Lara for an excellent career and total legend
