That's quite possibly true actually... I'm just not a 'GAWD how totally HOT is such and such' kinda guy I guess! I'm not normally although when I see someone like Andy I break the rules!

It DOES amuse me that they're Lou and Andy...

I must say that Echoes is a really good introduction to Pink Floyd. I really not that fussed about DSOTM though. That's surely fairly blasphemous for a floyd fan I think it's ace, although I really have nothing to compare it too on the PF front. Echoes is excellent... it seems a pretty comprehensive and wide ranging overview I'm intruiged as to what might top you Floyd list... Incidentally, I feel your Radiohead top three may well be the reverse of mine...

Now where have I heard that before? Dandy's being influencing you far too much. Stay away from him - he's evil.

50 Milla - The Divine Comedy1994, did not make top 40 Top tracks: Gentleman who Fell, Clock, It's Your Life I'm probably the only person in the country who bought this CD. Famous as a Russian supermodel, this is a very melodic, interesting pop album - think Lene Marlin's Unforgivable sinner but more folky arrangements and with lyrics about devils, angels and destiny.

49 My Bloody Valentine - Loveless1991, #11 Top tracks: To Here Knows When, Soon, Touched Wow - what an extreme sonic experience the first time you here it. Truely a great wall of sound with some whispering style vocals over it. Very liberating experience to hear this.

48 Belle and Sebastian - The Boy With the Arab Strap1998, #12 Top tracks: It Could have Been a Brilliant Career, Chickfactor, The Boy With the Arab Strap The word I would use to describe this Scottish band is charming and this album is a great example of it. Clever, catchy lyrics with a great amount of knowing and humour. This album was their commercial breakthrough and features a lot of variety throughout.

47 Nirvana - Nevermind1991, #7 Top tracks: Lithium, Polly, In Bloom I didn't even mention Teen Spirit in my top 3 of this album. I had a massive Nirvana phase in 1998 and this album was always being played especially the anthemic first side. He came to hate them but he sure could write em.

46 DJ Shadow - Entroducing1996, #17 I'm not going to do a top 3 as for me it's not that kind of album but you will definitely know the hauntingly beautiful Stem/Long Stem from various documentaries about drug addicts, serial killers et al. It's an intense listen throughout - atmospheric music at its best.

45 Tori Amos - To Venus and Back1999, #22 Top tracks: Juarez, Lust, Bliss She experiments further with the electronica and creates a collection of other-worldly songs. Without the seriousness and angst of previous albums (although Juarez is very dark) she is liberated to show her musicianship to the full and it's darn good.

44 Kate Bush - The Kick Inside1978, #3 Top tracks: The Kick Inside, Moving, The Man With the Child in His Eyes. I did a thread about this in the (alt)-divas forum so check that out. I do prefer the later version of Wuthering Heights though

43 Bjork - Debut1993, #3 Top tracks: Play Dead, The Anchor Song, One Day Yet Another Banshee album! I really love the second half of this album - absolutely beautiful songs which conjure such evocative moods. Together with the dancier first half you get an album that still sounds incredibly fresh today.

42 Crowded House - Together Alone1993, #4 Top tracks: Nails in My Feet, Private Universe, Fingers of Love I only own one Crowded House album and doubt there's any better out there. This is astonishing - extrememly sensual (and dare I say homoerotic in places, see Nails in My Feet - one of my favourite songs ever). Although it was terrible that both that single and Fingers of Love were taken off their 'Best of'. The Maori choir on several of the tracks works well too.

Great in this section so far to see:
My Bloody Valentine, Belle and Sebastian, and Nirvana (even though I think it's massively overrated).
