140 Foo Fighters 'Long Road To Ruin' (30-22*) 139 Bright Eyes 'Four Winds' (33-31-17-12-15-25-38) 138 Super Mal ft Luciana 'Bigger Than Big' (15-11-14-13-16-23-32-34) 137 Howling Bells 'Low Happening' (26-16-15-11-18-25) 136 Dragonette 'I Get Around' (40-37-19-18-18-22-30) 135 Maximo Park 'Girls Who Play Guitars' (30-09-07-07-18-27-34) 134 Freelance Hellraiser 'We Don't Belong' (17-10-20-33) 133 Lethal Bizzle 'Police On My Back' (26-11-05-06-11-17-34) 132 Air Traffic 'Shooting Star' (14-07-06-13-24-36) 131 DJ Shadow 'This Time (I'm Gonna Try It My Way)' (03-09-12-15-34)
Foo Fighters, Bright Eyes, Howling Bells, Dragonette and Maximo Park appear aloongside Super Mal (by far the best of all of this years songs that sound like 'Yeah Yeah'), Freelance Hellraiser (which I've only really started to love, mainly down to the 7 minute Alex Gopher remix), Lethal Bizzle (who'd be higher if I'd still never heard the original, he really has done nothing to it...), Air Traffic's first entry and DJ Shadow (who would be much higher had I still not been using my old way of compiling my chart at the beginning of the year).

130 Simone White 'The Beep Beep Song' (31-08-04-09-15-23*) 129 Robots In Disguise 'The Sex Has Made Me Stupid' (28-19-16-19-26-34-37*) 128 The Hours 'Back When You Were Good' (30-33-05-08-18-29) 127 Willy Mason 'We Can Be Strong' (21-10-08-15-18-24-35-37) 126 Husky Rescue 'Nightless Night' (16-10-14-25-32) 125 Interpol 'Mammoth' (38-21-11-15-13-18-22-29) 124 Amy MacDonald 'This Is The Life' (29-21-14*) 123 Bat For Lashes 'What's A Girl To Do?' (39-32-17-14-15-23-38-38-39) 122 Regina Spektor 'Fidelity' (24-18-21-31) 121 Fionn Regan 'Be Good Or Be Gone' (21-14-13-09-06-09-14-27)
This 10 starts with two songs still on the chart, one from Robots In Disguise, the other being the recent Audi ad soundtrack from Simone White. The Hours and Willy Mason get their highest entries, Husky Rescue and Amy Macdonald get their only entries. Interpol get their first of three, 'Mammoth' really was a poor single choice and we don't see them again for a LONG while yet. Mercury nominees Bat For Lashes and Fionn Regan sandwich the wonderful Regina Spektor which really should be much higher, I just made it underperform a hell of a lot.

120 Foo Fighters 'The Pretender' (27-17-06-06-09-12-15-22-28-37) 119 The Good, The Bad & The Queen 'Kingdom Of Doom' (34-07-09-17-14-20-30) 118 Cooper Temple Clause 'Waiting Game' (06-03-06-12-20-32) 117 Emma Pollock 'Paper & Glue' (35-33-32-20*) 116 The Go! Team 'The Wrath Of Marcie' (37-25-25-19-13*) 115 The Wombats 'Kill The Director' (24-09-10-23-37) 114 Lethal Bizzle 'Bizzle Bizzle/Babylon's Burning The Ghetto' (33-16-09-07-12-19-22-32-37) 113 Feist 'My Moon, My Man' (37-24-17-12-17-29-35) 112 Simian Mobile Disco 'It's The Beat' (31-39-28-24-21-21-29-36-39-40) 111 Dinosaur, Jr 'Crumble' (35-24-17-16-27-33-34-37)
We start this 10 with the most successful song in it from the Foo Fighters, it really does bore a bit after a while. Also appearing are Damon Albarns Good, Bad & Queen projects with their first entry, Cooper Temple Clause (RIP), Emma Pollock & The Go! Team's first of three entries and both with their recent singls, The Wombats (it's good but it does annoy if you listen too much), some more Bizzle, the lovely Feist, another first of 3, this time for Simian Mobile Disco, with the highest placed song not to make my top 20 and Dinosaur, Jr.

110 Air Traffic 'Charlotte' (25-16-07-01-03-10-18-31) 109 Amy Winehouse 'You Know I'm No Good' (19-17-20-39) 108 Manic Street Preachers 'Your Love Alone Is Not Enough' (37-32-11-07-04-07-16-25) 107 Malcolm Middleton 'We're All Going To Die' (31-20-06*) 106 Editors 'An End Has A Start' (25-13-06-02-04-07-14-24-34) 105 The Good, The Bad & The Queen 'Green Fields' (37-20-13-09-13-18-26-35) 104 Pigeon Detectives 'Take Her Back' (37-30-18-11-12-22-27-30-31-34-39) 103 Dntel 'The Distance' (38-29-21-10-07-15-23-30-28-38) 102 Dizzee Rascal 'Pussyole (Old Skool)' (26-19-10-08-07-09-14-21-28-33-38) 101 Emma Pollock 'Acid Test' (30-20-07-04-03-08-13-30-40)
We start with the first, and least successful of this years 25 number one singles; 'Charlotte' by Air Traffic. It is a good song but I think it's their weakest single and it probably only got there because I was really excited about them at the time. What is by far Amy Winehouse's best song comes next. Really low but I never gave it much at the time, unfortunately. The Manics and Xmas Number One 'candidate' Malcolm Middleton are next along with Editors which really could've been lifted off their first album... The Good The Bad & The Queen aren't far off the top 100 twice, Pigeon Detectives ode to oral sex, Dntel and Dizzee also nearly make it (though Dizzee does later, the others don't). Emma Pollock is the song that just misses out on a top 100 placing, to a recent-ish song by a Scandanavian act which just missed the UK top 40. Any guesses?

got to be Sigur Ros - Hjomalind ?? yeh? It's good... but it's not right! 100 The Hives 'Tick Tick Boom' (18- 03-05-11-15-24-33) www.youtube.com/watch?v=rwhU99_66R8The typical Garage-Rock we've come to expect from The Hives. A decent enough song though not up to the standard of past glories... 099 The Fratellis 'Baby Fratelli' (35-30-14- 10-17-24-32) www.youtube.com/watch?v=gqAJrIYjCLMI've always gone through patches of love and hate with these but I really do think they're much better than pretty much all other mainstream indie acts. This 5th song is one of the albums best few tracks... 098 Camera Obscura 'If Looks Could Kill' (24-11- 10-12-23-34) www.youtube.com/watch?v=ztIWgEO0vRcA band I never discovered until the beginning of the year (New Years Day infact...) when I heard the brilliant 'Lloyd, I'm Ready To Be Heartbroken'. This was their first of two singles this year and made a fantastic #191 in the UK charts... 097 Rumble Strips 'Alarm Clock' (19- 14-16-20-25-38) www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qp4C-54u3o8Although I originally said otherwise these are the first of SEVEN(!) acts to have atleast three songs in my top 100! This is my favourite of their three but as it is by far the worst performing on my chart has to settle for a spot lower down. An exciting band and I should probably get their album... 096 Dizzee Rascal 'Flex' (37-26-12-09- 04-08-15*) www.youtube.com/watch?v=tUPleuj42w0I really have quite liked Dizzee's singles this year, something which doesn't usually happen. After 'Stand Up Tall', this is is best song...

095 Robyn 'Handle Me' (21-08- 03-05-10-27-34-38*) www.youtube.com/watch?v=x4UHNhVSrEMProbably the best pop act of the year. Really liked this song though I have gone off it a bit recently. Still good though and 'Be Mine' should do atleast as well next year... 094 The Maccabees 'About Your Dress' (26-20- 13-15-22-32) www.youtube.com/watch?v=DcTagVOJN3gNot particualrly a fan of this band but recently I've come to love this song. A joyous slice of indie... 093 Simian Mobile Disco 'I Believe' (21- 08- 08-17-17-20-23-34-40-40) www.youtube.com/watch?v=5mZzzZLG2pYQuite different to what they normally do as it definitely sounds more like it was made for mainstream success but it's still fantastic. They deserve better. 092 Timbaland ft Keri Hilson & DOE 'The Way I Are' (19-17- 14-19-21-24-30-35*) www.youtube.com/watch?v=BMMUWvavORIDespite me thinking that generally this year has been p*ss poor for number one singles this is the first of four to make my top 100. It wasn't something I liked at first, I cannot stand Timbaland and think he ruins everything he appears on vocally. But after a while, and especially after going to uni, I started to love it. I still think that if Timbaland featured less it'd be a hell of a lot better though... 091 Reverend & The Makers 'Heavyweight Champion Of The World' (34-24-16- 15-21-28-40) www.youtube.com/watch?v=fmfFmxJhtxUA song which I really liked but then started to annoy me. It's really re-grown on me though and despite them generally being an awful band I think this will be one of the few indie songs to be remembered for a while... For ease of commenting: 100 The Hives 'Tick Tick Boom' 099 The Fratellis 'Baby Fratelli' 098 Camera Obscura 'If Looks Could Kill' 097 Rumble Strips 'Alarm Clock' 096 Dizzee Rascal 'Flex' 095 Robyn 'Handle Me' 094 The Maccabees 'About Your Dress' 093 Simian Mobile Disco 'I Believe' 092 Timbaland ft Keri Hilson & DOE 'The Way I Are' 091 Reverend & The Makers 'Heavyweight Champion Of The World'
