#63 Scissor Sisters 'I Don't Feel Like Dancing' ( 01-02-05-09-09-09-16-21-38) (9 weeks) www.youtube.com/watch?v=3SU5dpeNu48I adored this when I first heard it. Thought it was by far the best thing they'd done and couldn't believe they'd come back with something this good. It didn't last long on the chart but it was more to do with 27 new entries in two weeks than me tiring of the song. That would've been an expensive fortnight if I'd legally downloaded stuff back then! I do still like it now but nowhere near as much. If ever there was a song that didn't need overexposure this was it. Christ, it's annoying now. (#93)

#64 Guillemots 'Trains To Brazil' ( 01-02-05-08-07-06-07-16-22-26-33-35-38-39-35-33-33-33-35-39) (20 weeks) www.youtube.com/watch?v=X_aHlHc_Vb4I love this band so much. It only had a week at the top but then it was nearly a year old and only really got a week to make up for it stalling at 2 first time. I still adored it though and had it not been in my top 100 singles of 2005 it would have been in my top 3 of 2006. Wonderful song which never fails to make me feel good. Album's a belter too, one of the decades very best. It benefitted from the pre and post Christmas lull with 10 weeks in the 30s. (#06)

#65 The Aliens 'The Happy Song' ( 01-03-05-05-04-06-19-24-33-37) (10 weeks) www.youtube.com/watch?v=6YikDJIj9MoI loved this at the time, a really good uplifiting song about being happy! Not so fond now, almost seems noveltyish. Still like their other material though. (#90)

#86 Lily Allen 'LDN' ( 01- 01-02-02-02-11-23-28-32-34) (10 weeks) www.youtube.com/watch?v=ORosVxIg8TgI first heard this when it first got some publicity in around March. I loved it and thought it should've been the soundtrack to summer but was released far too late. I still loved it when it came out but I had bored of it a little bit. Still enjoyable to listen to now. It kept McAlmont & Butler 'Speed' and Jet 'Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is' off the top. (#47)

#67 TV On The Radio 'Wolf Like Me' (35-24-12-06-04- 01- 01- 01-07-17-24-30-29-31-36-40-39-38-40) (19 weeks) www.youtube.com/watch?v=GUB1xSAAADkThe second slow rise to the top. It was definitely a song that grew on me over time. I hardly heard it before release but then I downloaded it and it just got better and better. I still love it now and haven't ever stopped, although the 16 place, 2 week fall from the top may suggest otherwise, but there was nothing ahead of it that wasn't released in those two weeks or wasn't doing its own TVOTR ascent! #68 Bodyrox ft Luciana 'Yeah Yeah' ( 01- 01- 01-04-04-06-04-04-06-09-13-16-17-28-31) (15 weeks) www.youtube.com/watch?v=3BztcQyvZFYIn a week where the top 6 were all new releases, it was this, the best dance song in AGES, that managed to beat off competition from Air Traffic, Young Knives, Sunshine Underground, Peter, Bjorn & John and The Good, The Bad & The Queen to reach the top and stay there for three weeks. I still absolutely love it now and would place it in my top 5 dance tracks of the decade, just a shame it's been inferiorly ripped-off and cloned so many times since. Air Traffic 'Never Even Told Me Her Name', The Good The Bad & The Queen 'Herculean' and Snow Patrol & Martha Wainwright 'Set The Fire To The Third Bar' all stalled at number two behind it. (#26)

#69 The Feeling 'Love It When You Call' ( 01-03-02-02-03-04-08-14-20-29) (10 weeks) www.youtube.com/watch?v=DSzDqUoIBckThey'd come close twice before with both releases of 'Fill My Little World' but it was this that gave them their first (and barring a miracle) only number one. It was my standout track from the moment I listened to the album. I still like it now but somewhat predictably I have tired of them, still give them a listen every now and again though. The Good, The Bad & The Queen re-bounded with 'Herculean' in its week at the top but again it was to stick at #2! (#70)

#70 Damien Rice '9 Crimes' ( 01- 01- 01- 01- 01-02-02-06-05-08-19-27-38) (13 weeks) www.youtube.com/watch?v=aHW3BTF5pWYI never liked the stuff off his first album, it was ok and that was it. But this was stunning. I couldn't believe he'd come back with something so unbelievably beautiful. His vocals are so suited with Lisa Hannigan's, they are the perfect male/female contrast. Unfortunately it was a one off as I'm still yet to hear anything I like. But I don't mind a one off when it is this good! This kept Nelly Furtado's 'All Good Things', a rebounding Air Traffic and The Rapture's 'WAYUH' off the top. (#17)

YAY for the Guillemots - they spent 3 weeks atop my chart in September 2006! Did any of their other singles make #1 for you? They didn't on mine, "Annie.. " stalled at #2.

#71 The Rapture 'Wooh! Alright-Yeah... Uh-Huh' (09-07-05-02- 01-04-10-14-21-32) (10 weeks) www.youtube.com/watch?v=d0bzmjZQYnoAnother song that gradually climbed to the top of my chart. It took a while to grow and managed to benefit from the usual Christmas lull by climbing all the way to the top. It soon fell down though as for some reason I'm always quick to get rid of the previous years songs... Probably the most bizzare title of any song I've charted. (#41)

#72 Jarvis Cocker 'Don't Let Him Waste Your Time' ( 01-02-04-04-13-19-30-39) (8 weeks) www.youtube.com/watch?v=c1oMtwmTaNQI'm surprised how quickly I let this fall out. I've always thought it was a really strong single and the best song on the album. Still like it now although I'm not so fond of the album as I was when I first bought it. I do love the video, probably my favourite of the year. Coincidentally, my favourite cover (as in cd) of the year was also from Jarvis, for his other single; 'Fat Children', just some small tampering of the album cover! (#56)

#73 Guillemots 'Annie, Let's Not Wait' ( 01- 01- 01- 01-04-07-11-19-26-39) www.youtube.com/watch?v=q2qximPa7coI adore Guillemots. Their album was my favourite of 2006 and one of my top 5 of the decade so far. Although everything on it is excellent I generally found the singles best which was good, this was always going to make number one. It was during its time at number one I decided to change how I compiled my chart due to it being too confusing with songs being released to download and charting weeks before release and I couldn't be bothered in keeping up so just charted whatever I wanted, whenever. It certainly did muck up chart runs though as songs tended to fall down faster, something which the last few number ones have suffered from. The Shortwave Set 'Casual Use' and Just Jack 'Starz In Their Eyes' stalled at number two behind it. (#36)

Everything I hear 'Yoo-hoo' I cringe. Haven't listened to it in ages, won't listen to it again for ages! Shortwave Set were held off again, as was Kelis and Cee-Lo with 'Lil' Star'. (#98)

#75 LCD Soundsystem 'North American Scum' (30-11- 01-02-03-07-12-18-22-27-29-27-33-36) (14 weeks) www.youtube.com/watch?v=ieT_lf9wK28I'd liked the stuff off his first album but it wasn't until this that I really appreciated him. I loved it right from the start although it took far longer with the album. It's not one of my favourite of his anymore, it appears a bit noveltyish, but it's still very good. (#51)

#76 The Sounds 'Tony The Beat (Push It)' (07- 01- 01-03-06-10-12-16-19-23-26-28-32-39) (14 weeks) www.youtube.com/watch?v=qbJ1M0di2rwI loved this song right from when I first heard it. I'd heard 6Music playe it a few times but never caught what it was. I'd seen people talk about it on forums but never bothered to look into it but then I saw the video on E4 and charted it straight away! I really did love it, though I don't so much now. The other couple of songs I've heard from them are kind of samey and I've gone off them a bit. (#77)

#77 Maximo Park 'Our Velocity' (13-04-02- 01- 01-05-05-08-13-22-30-39) (12 weeks) www.youtube.com/watch?v=eWwBkA0GqaYA long awaited follow-up from me which I didn't really like at first but given a few listens I fell in love with it which is what I'd wanted. I still think it's a belter of a song now although I'm certainly not the fan I once was. I haven't listened the the second album in full for ages. Disappointing, but they've still made some cracking songs which I love and well, that's enough! Calvin Harris 'Acceptable In The 80s' and Patrick Wolf 'The Magic Position' were kept at 2. (#34)

#78 Air Traffic 'Charlotte' (25-16-07- 01-03-10-18-31) (8 weeks) www.youtube.com/watch?v=erQowJTL1i8You can tell from its extremely short chart run that this probably didn't deserve to reach the top. I do like it, but that's it. It was never number one material really and only made it as their first single failed but spent so long on my chart (it was actually the second best performing song of 2006) but never made it. This is their weakest single, but the only one to reach the top. Little Man Tate 'This Must Be Love' was number two behind it. (#95)

#79 Stefy 'Chelsea' (26-04- 01-02-05-06-05-09-11-17-25-37) (12 weeks) www.youtube.com/watch?v=N1RMCuIUB9cLast years most undeserving Pop-Flop. I loved this song, not so much now but it's still a fantastic pop song which deserved a lot more. Not particularly original but a good fun song as good as most pop in the charts. It held Arctic Monkeys 'Brianstorm' off the top. (#53)
