Beginning to really take shape now! Some of the later ones I have trouble in remembering as interset in the charts has waned. Four different people voted for Lemarr. I thought Donna Summer might have done better.
And who on earth voted for The Nolans?!!!!!!!

I am enjoying seeing how this works out. I am very pleased to see that the older records from the fifties and sixties are doing okay. I can remember buying some of these in the sixties in the Co-op. I think they were 6s8d and I gave my Mum's divi number so she got a dividend on them at the end of the quarter.
My very first crush was on Helen Shapiro.

The 60s don't do that brilliantly near the top actually. The 50s are not represented at all in the top 100

The 60s don't do that brilliantly near the top actually. The 50s are not represented at all in the top 100 That's always the case in polls. Older records are always at a disadvantage. You'll get a pretty ordinary record by the current flavour of the month finish high. A couple of years down the road the same record might not even appear high up the list while the really deserving songs will attain their relative position. No Abba yet and most of Cliff's to come for I voted for all of them.

1961 makes 3 appearances in that list. My own favourite single of 1961 did peak at #3 but was stuck at #343 when nobody else voted for it.

I didn't realise this results thread had begun - but then I don't wander into the charts forum as much as I should Posted by EarlPurple: Oh back in '88 (or whenever it was),I loved 'I Need You' by BVSMP.I didn't vote for it as it's been so long since I heard it,that it might not be as good as I remember. If I thought that noone was else was gonna vote for it,I'd have given it a point out of sympathy and for old times sake Posted by Rubcale : That would be me ! :DI love that song.I'm sure I put it in my top ten (maybe even top 5 !) ** Offers this dance to Rubcale - 'cause I'm in the mood for dancing **

And as they say in financial circles we're into the top quartile. Still no Abba and most of Cliff's to come. I bet most of them got all their votes from the same three people!!!!!! except the duet and SAW production.
Different strokes for different folks. Music doesn't really appeal to me. I thought the naughty Alice was a good bit of fun.
Interesting a couple of the real oldies got 4 votes.
I'm not surprised some of those already mentioned didn't get to #1!
What was the highest no of mentions any record got or can you not say until the end?

The one that got the most votes got 14 votes but didn't win. And the one that got the most first place votes also didn't win.
There were 3 people who voted for a lot of Cliff Richard songs, but Lorna, you didn't vote for A Girl Like You.

There were 3 people who voted for a lot of Cliff Richard songs, but Lorna, you didn't vote for A Girl Like You. When you like an artist you generally like their songs but that was one of Cliff's I just never took to. Quite hard to believe that with 20-something votes a record should get a mention in 14 of them. Considering there were over 800 songs to choose from it is in some ways amazing that the same song has been chosen as #1 by more than one person.

Ottowan cheesey but great at the time. What a pity the UK couldn't get a decent ESC entry like Katrina now.

Stoned Love was easily the best post-Diana Supremes track. Good to see Connie Francis@ Lipstick do so well. Sarah Brightman has a great voice. She did a couple of great duets particularly Con Te Partiro with Andrea Bocelli.
