I know i'm a major fan, BUT looking at the Top 10 i've just realised there are couple of stinkers in there!I've never liked Especially for you,Locomotion and the terrible Let it be!I know it was for a good cause but it doesn't excuse a bad job.Even All the way by SAW and England Football Team (no.64 in 1988)was hundred times better!

No Help! either We are missing a lot of info!Ferry was a lot better than Let it be imo.Lets rather not discuss You've got a friend!Do they know '89 was not too bad , but Help is my least favourate Bananarama song ever, ok along with Nathan Jones.

In honour of this thread ,you have me currently watching my Vhs 'All The Hits ' by Sinitta.I haven't watched it for years.Honest ! Anyway,I remember at the intro of each song it has a 'factfile' and the number of sales of each song,so that's why I'm viewing it.lol. It's on 'Toyboy' right now,and I'm thinking is she fudging the truth as it reads :
''Sales = 1,500,000''
? Or would that be world sales instead of Uk sales ?

I think we may need to form a game plan on this one Jan, there are a lot of other bigger sellers after Feb 89. I'll plunder Cafe 80's tomorrow and see what sales info I can find on there, and we'll tackle a proper definitive SAW list. Oh, and don't think I didn't notice your Help! comment. I LOVE Help.

I'd forgotten how much facepaint/make up that Sinitta wore back then.It looks at least a couple of inches thick and the colours of a clown - although she got it right in '...Miracles' ,she looks stunning in that one. Her vid claims (though I'm expecting Smurfies research to show her up to be a liar haha)....
GTO : 450,000 Cross My Broken Heart : 600,000 I Don't Believe In Miracles : 400,000 Right Back Where We Started From : 1,200,000 Love On A Mountain Top : 400,000 plus.
p.s - 'Help !' is wonderful.I love it.It's ALL about Lanananeeneenoonoo.lol

I'm not sure you you should be copying whole sections of that discography without crediting them Murray

Yes, i'm sure that's from the Cafe 80's section from The Hitfactory Forum? If anybody has actually UK sales figures on their hits it will be greatly appreciated!

If you take a look in the Sales Archive in the Charts forum you should find the End Of Year charts although not all include sales (the further back you go the harder sales were to come by)

I remember there being sales data in an article of the Record Mirror in 88. I'm pretty sure it scanned in on one of the SAW sites. Other wise I was going to tackle it by trying to find sales data on individual singers web/fansites.
