Had the pleasure of seeing VV Brown tonight. I hope she is successful in '09, she has a coruscating talent. Like Winehouse circa Frank, it's as if it can't be contained and is still looking for the right vehicle.

I'm really hoping Bo Bruce - a contestant in this year's UnsignedAct on T4 - will be huge next year. I think she's fantastic, check her out. www.myspace.com/bobruceworx'Fighting Arizona' is wonderful.

Wow if Little Boots gets as big as Mika and Duffy it would be the biggest surprise of my life... I've been a fan of hers since her debut with Dead Disco but Meddle is just PERFECT!!!
Florence & The Machine is sheer brilliance...

How did we miss The Big Pink, Dan Black and Frankmusik?
Mumford & Sons are new to me...seem interesting though, keen to investigate more. I think that the Sound of 2009 poll has missed some big players - but they've got the key four in there with White Lies, Little Boots, VV Brown and Lady Ga Ga.

Here are my (late) contributions!
A Silent Film
For fans of: Coldplay, Keane, Muse I saw these guys supporting OneRepublic a few months ago and was absolutely blown away by their talent! They've already released their debut album 'The City That Sleeps', but it deserves far more mainstream attention. Their anthemic piano-led music would sound great on Radio 1 - but the band also have a darker edge and a unique sound of their own. I see no reason why these guys can't sell millions of records if they're well supported!
Sarah Whatmore
For fans of: Dido, James Blunt, Adele You may remember Sarah from the original series of Pop Idol - she also released two fairly succesful singles before vanishing off the face of the earth. Now she's back with a more mature sound that better reflects her own musical tastes and shows off her lovely voice to much better effect. Her album 'Time To Think' is due out early next year and based on what I've heard, it should be very good!
