I think the main headlines are Wallace and Gromit on BBC1, with a network premiere of Curse of the Were-Rabbit, and a BRAND NEW half-hour claymation called A Matter Of Loaf And Death.
Also on BBC1 on the big day, another Doctor Who special, plus a one-off episode of The Royle Family. ITV1 compete with Dancing On Ice at 8pm, and Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban during the afternoon.

Looks like the beeb has the best offerings then - but I never get to watch tv at Christmas as we're so busy playing with the kids new toys. Christmas Eve films look good though - and I'm intruiged to see what Shrek the Halls is as it's only on for half an hour

Also on the big day, may watch the Strictly special, though im not sure ive bothered in the past, Itll Be Alright On the Night is a must too, and Top Gear possibly (unless its a repeat?). Wheres the Christmas TOTP though? As for Christmas Eve, would watch My Family and the HIGNFY Christmas special but will probably be out, don't think im really that bothered about missing either though. Im sure HIGNFY will be repeated at some stage anyway. This reminds me to get the Christmas Radio Times, which is a tradition for me...

Shrek The Halls was on last year, it's a short feature about Shrek and Fiona getting ready for Christmas and being bothered by the rest of the characters. It was OK, and probably worth seeing once (especially for the kids).

Im sure HIGNFY will be repeated at some stage anyway. It's repeated (with "A Bit More") at the end of Christmas Day, on BBC2, at 12.15am. It's also repreated (standard length) on Sunday 28th, BBC1 at 9.30 (right before the last of the regular series is on BBC2). There's also a Christmas Special of QI, first shown on Monday 22 December at 9pm (BBC1), and repeated on Tuesday 30th at 10pm... and again on Friday 2nd Jan at 10pm (BBC2). Everything new is on at least twice, it seems And for my family. I've just got a cheapo TV guide, as my parents will buy the RT anyway and I'm going home before Saturday.

Wheres the Christmas TOTP though? . According to my digibox, its on at 2pm, just before the Queen's speech. I'm looking forward to Dr Who in particular, and also the new Wallace & Grommit thing. Dancing on Ice will be worth recording for later I think ... I suspect we'll be spending the rest of the time on our new Wii

Not amused. If I watch Doctor Who then I miss the first 15 mins of Memoirs of a Geisha on 5 and I don't particularly want to record either (granted that year I'll probably still be at dinner when both are on is not the point!).....Although.....I think I can record both with the freeview box.....Hmmmm......

'Ella Enchanted' was filmed here. They held castings for 'extras' in the village hall. Everyone was dying to see it,but it never turned up at the cinema or even in the dvd shops,to rent.It was finally shown on tv last year.It wasn't worth the wait.I only managed to sit through half of it,and it wrecked my head trying to spot 'extras' that I'd recognise.I spotted none.

I've just caught the end of Charlotte Church's Christmas Special on Channel 4 where the finale was her singing with Rhydian ... my god she can't sing !!!!
I know she made her wealth singing, but that was as a child - it just doesn't work now she has an adult voice and if she'd auditioned for X Factor she wouldn't even have made it to Boot Camp !!

My parents used to get the Radio Times along with the TV Times (like usual) but it always used to be me who used the RT more! They have more info on the shows and I find their radio listings particularly useful when the schedules are so different around this time of year.
