I like two or three Britney tracks, but I never thought she would last so long and have so many hits.I think her songs are better than her voice.
Alexandra copied the moves (and the look) for Aguileras Candyman (and I loved it) - I wonder will she go all schoolgirl and do 'Hit Me Baby One More Time' ? Uhmm I hope not.

I think that the only song Eoghan could realistically pull off is 'Born to Make You Happy'. Ruth would be incredible if she did a rock version of 'Stronger'. Diana... 'Everytime' would be phenomenal. Alexandra is probably the most flexible though since she's proven she can not only do ballads but up-tempos too. So she's pretty much limitless. I agree that 'My Prerogative' is about the best option for JLS.

Several Net forums are saying it's Hallelujah today.

I don't understand why they keep going for cover versions as the first single. Personally, I'd rather have Born To Try if they are, I really don't like the song Hallelujah.

Apparently, the Winner's Song - to be the Single, has already been chosen - by Simon Cowell.
It will be a Cover, (what a surprise!), of the Leonard Cohen Song 'Halleluja' - which has been done by Jeff Buckley, KD Lang, Rufus Wainright, & many others.
I believe that Diana Vickers has already sang it on the Show, & got rave reviews off the Judges for it. As a result - according to one of today's 'Papers - the other Finalists are very suspicious that the entire thing is being rigged for her to Win. (Easily done - you just make sure that Voters cannot get through to cast all their Votes for the other Finalists. This trick has been suspected before about that Show).
The suspicions of the other Finalists are not helped by the fact that Simon Cowell announced that 'Diana will win', as he left a Charity Event recently.
Anyhow - there we have it. Whoever wins the 'Show', will have the Christmas Number 1 - with a Cover of a 1984 Leonard Cohen Song. How exciting! (Not!).

It's much better than blooming Born to Try with that awful high screeching note in it! Plus, Hallelujah is at least festive rather than being a generic song about "getting there" or "making it" or "having a chance" - since Geraldine has released the best ever "winner's song" I don't think we should be subjected to any more.

Jeff Buclkey's version is 6.53 long do surely it won't be as long as that.

So they'll butcher it by cutting a verse or two out. Sacrilege!!

I don't understand why they don't write original songs. That's My Goal, is one of the best winner songs of any reality show. Considering it's garunteed to be a huge seller, you'd think they'd push the boat out and record something new.
I think it's so obvious that Diana's going to win given the song choice for the winners song. I've heard Jordin Sparks' 'This is My Now' and Delta's 'Born to Try' were rumoured to be it too. I think 'Born to Try' would be best.

Cohen's Hallelujah is not festive at all... as most of Cohen's songs it's all about sex and infidelity...

Well obviously it's not *meant* to be festive, but it will sound a darn sight more festive than "Born to Try". Looking at it that way, "Fairytale of New York" isn't festive either, as that's about similar themes!

I agree with TTB, it should always be an original.
I don't understand why Cowell doesn't always use a new song, it's proven to be the best way seen as though Shayne's 'That's My Goal' is the best selling X Factor winner's single.

Hasn't it been bleedingly obvious that the whole show is set up for Diana to win?
Just like Simon pushed Brookstein, Shayne and Leona as the winners in their years. (Last year Rhydian was the chosen one, but something badly went wrong at the end).
I'd love to see Diana's Hallelujah as Xmas #1

I agree, this also goes with the fact they've never placed her in the dangerous 1st performance slot.
