I managed to watch last weeks last night. I agree that the two best went though, but I have to say Only Men Allowed or whatever they were called were way way down on their previous performances. Revelation were superb. The Hereford Police Choir were good as well, but I don't think they were entertaining enough to cut it in the live shows. I can't really see anybody actually picking up the phone to vote for them. Libera were fab, really enjoyed that.
Tomorrow's should be very interesting indeed. I think all 5 choirs I thought at the audition stage they could be ones to watch. I don't think there are any particular weak ones there, definitely the toughest heat to get through. But maybe they'll all screw it up on the night, no way to tell really!

I take back what I said about it being the toughest heat. All the choirs, to be honest, were crap. I don't really agree with the Handbags going home at this point - they weren't perfect but at least they weren't dull as f*** like the Bath Male choir, and they weren't hideously out of tune like Hear Me Now. At least it was entertaining to watch.
AMC Gospel Choir going through first was the right decision, but more by default than anything else.

ACM Gospel was definitely the right decision
I would have kicked off Hear Me Now first
Bath made the mistake of so many other choirs of choosing a soloist who doesn't have the voice to carry it off
If they don't improve tonight then Open Arts Choir will go through

Hmm. I really don't agree with Bath Male Voice Choir going through. But I'm not sure who I'd have put through instead. I think I would have put Hear Me Now through actually, the competition and choral music in general would have benefitted by having a young group singing pop music songs, rather than a second (and really rather dull) male voice choir.

Hear Me Now are continually flat, there was no way they would go through
Of the 3 in the final, Bath performed the best and deserved to go through but I'm not sure they'll last long in the finals

The third heat was absolutely awful. I would have put through ACM first, but their performance on the Sunday night show was awful. I expect they will be majorly eclipsed by Revelation in the live shows.
I would have put through Hear Me Now second, although I guess they were too similar and not as good as Ysgol Glaneathwy.
It is a shame that Last Minute weren't in the final heat, as they were the best choir not to make the final six.
Revelation and Sense of Sound are my clear favourites though.

Revelation and Ysgol Glanaethwy are my favourites at the moment, though that could easily change with the live shows. Several of the choirs are very hit and miss.

Revelation are my favourites. Like the show.

I think the bottom two this week will be Revelation and Bath Male Choir. Both had trouble with tuning and were quite dull, in my opinion.
Further, I've decided I don't rate Suzie as a judge. She seems to fail to realise that entertainment is what it's all about.

I agree with LC. Revelation and the Bath Male Choir were not great this evening, and chose awful songs to perform.
It was all about Only Men Allowed for me - they were fabulous. Yes, it was a bit showy rather than choral, but they were by far the most entertaining.

My thoughts: YG: I think they were set up tonight to go, so they needed a great song and a great performance. Bo Rhap is brave, and they did a very good version of it. I wasn't crazy about the arrangement, but it's impossible to faithfully chop it down to 2 mins Revelation: I didn't think it was that bad, but it was quite forgettable. It would be a shame to see them go as Rule The World in the heats was so good; I fear they have peaked too early. ACM: The arrangement was possibly a bit too complex for them, but it was a decent performance. Should be safe for this week Bath: The tuning and diction was all over the place for the first half of the performance. Far too safe and predictable. They have to go IMO. Sense of Sound: They suffered for their song choice. What they did with it was actually very good and very polished, but a better song would have done them huge favours Only Men Aloud: It was they performance of the night I guess, but I don't want to see a choir do well this by coasting on simple arrangements and gimmicks. And I fear that is exactly how OMA will win the whole thing

I'd put Bath & Sense of Sound in the bottom 2 and I suspect Bath will go
ACM were very good and Revelation were a little disappointing but I think they will be well liked by the public
Only Men Aloud were good but I agree with Paul, it was too gimicky

So Sense of Sound bite the dust. Based on the two songs tonight, it was the right choice. But honestly, I really feel Bath Male Choir should have been in the bottom two.

Yeah that was a terrible choice of song Sense Of Sound made, of the 2 they deserved to go

I thought it was a terrible shame that both SOS and Revelation were in the bottom two - sorry "Clash of the Choirs". Both were sub-par on Saturday, but absolutely could have shown much much more in the coming weeks.
I didn't think it was a terrible song choice for Sense of Sound, in fact I think they gave a wonderful performance, but they definitely suffered from doing an obscure, self-indulgent song again. But they should have stayed over Revelation, who were a bit half-assed in the sing-off tbh.

The right choir went this week.
I really like Ysgol Glanaethwy's first song, but wasn't overly keen on the second. ACM Gospel were once again fantastic, as were Only Men Allowed. I'm loosing interest in Revelation to be honest, everything they do sounds the same.
YG are still my personal favourites, although I think ACM are most likely to win at this point.

Yes, Bath absolutely had to go - they were really out of their depth in the final 6.
I agree with LittleC about Revelation - I'm not as keen on them as I was after the heats. The other three choirs are about as good as each other. I've never been the biggest Only Men Aloud fan, but if they keep doing gimmicky performances, they will win quite comfortably.
Saturday's show will be interesting only to see who will join Revelation in the bottom two. Whoever that is (and I suspect it will be YG) will surely come third

I wasn't fussy on Only Men Aloud's first song, lucky the had the gimicky second song to save them
Bath were the right chori to go though
I do like Revelation but ACM Gospel sing them out of the park - I want ACM to win now

How did Revelation get through on the public vote?! I thought there was something dodgy going on there, because I was surprised that the judges were saying they would definitely make the final. It seemed a bit forward considering they were in the bottom two for two weeks running.
I thought all the choirs were evenly matched. ACM were the weakest overall though. Their performance of I'll Be There wasn't very good at all. I was amazed that all of the judges saved YG over them though.
I can't see anyone stop Only Men Aloud from winning the whole thing now...
