She performed this amazingly on the Royal Variety Performance. Im not sure when it airs on TV or even if it already has, but the clip is on youtube now.

Didn't say you did. I just said if the guy who wrote the song (not just sang it, Dan) thinks she's brilliant, then some of you indie snobs should get down off your high horses and stop being so miserable. Well said

I'm another who thinks she slaughters the second half of the song with her vocal gymnastics

Didn't say you did. I just said if the guy who wrote the song (not just sang it, Dan) thinks she's brilliant, then some of you indie snobs should get down off your high horses and stop being so miserable. I totally agree. Regardless of the quality of the cover at all, fans of Snow Patrol would've declared this a travesty. I personally like this version a lot. The ending lets it down a bit for me, since the choir is a little gimmicky and it lacks the punch that I thought it was building up to. However, when sung live, this is incredible and is definitely a worthy and unique interpretation of the song. With regards to the Whitney comparissons (firstly, let's not make any drug related jokes! She's been clean 3 years), I feel sorry for Leona. I'm pretty sure she wants to be LEONA and not an intimitation of other divas. I hate it when new singers are touted as the new Mariah/Whitney/Celine since unless they are a tribute act, then there shouldn't really be any need for comparisson. She'll do fine carving her own niche and making her own way.
