Hey! Any rumours about BBC Sound of 2010? When the nominations to be announced?
Let's make some predictions of who can be nominated this year.
I can start with my suggestions of:
Owl City Erik Hassle Ellie Goulding
that's it so far...

They don't do the Sound of 2010 until the end of December
The longlist is announced at the beginning

The obvious one is Rose Elinor Dougall. I wouldn't mind seeing Chew Lips on there as well, but 2009 has not been the greatest of years for new discoveries.

The obvious one is Rose Elinor Dougall. I agree completely. Her solo material has been excellent - I'm looking forward to her album next year.

Serge was bang on the money, and I haven't ruled out Jonelle Monae quite yet (well for 2009 I have).

maybe but its been a hard year to make impacts on the charts, many have had decent steady sales and gained fans such as Friendly Fires and Empire of The Sun. Not surprised VV Brown did really do much, just never saw teh appeal and I saw her live at T as well Mostly its the landfill indie that has failed these year most notably Red Light Company, who in any other year could have been massive.

It's a self-fulfilling prophecy. Those whom the BBC picked as top acts were also rotation-played on the BBC, which meant more attention and more general airplay. Those whom the BBC did not choose for airplay, did not do so well. The Ones To Watch is the most important marketing tool this side of X Factor.

They've had a top 40 single and a top 40 album.
