Grosjean confirmed at Renault. When was the last time a team fielded two drivers that have been out of F1 for at least two years?

Daniel Ricciardo and Jean-Eric Vergne confirmed for Toro Rosso for 2012. Looks like a sudden French invasion in F1...
Also, Ben Edwards confirmed for BBC a few days ago. I would assume DC will continue alongside him, though it'd be great if they got John Watson in.

I would assume DC will continue alongside him, though it'd be great if they got John Watson in. Huge surprise at STR! The paddock consensus was that Buemi and Alguersuari would be retained. It does make sense because Ricciardo and JEV have shown much more natural speed than Buemi or Alguersuari in junior formulae, but Jaime had been coming on very well in the latter part of the season. If I was making the decision I would have paired up Alguersuari and Ricciardo at STR and farmed JEV out to Caterham. The fact they have dropped two of their own and have no other junior drivers close to being ready for F1 makes me wonder who RBR and STR's reserve driver(s) will be. They may have possibly snared an experienced non-Red Bull driver. Or it could be Buemi? I think Alguersuari will have a seat somewhere, HRT at the very least. Although from what I hear with Colin Kolles gone from HRT things are looking very shaky there yet again. Yes they have confirmed DC will co-commentate. A real coup for BBC. Ben Edwards is excellent. Even though I'm getting Sky I will probably dip into BBC's coverage from time to time. A real shame that we never got Brundle and Edwards commentating together. It would have been the best commentary pairing since Brundle and Murray.

It's a shame both Buemi and Alguesuari have been dropped by STR, especially the latter as he came on really well last season. Buemi I can't argue with as much, I do like him but he's been around a while now and probably had his chance. I think Jaime probably will end up with Hispania. Not really paid much attention to Williams seat, are they waiting to see if they can get Sutil? Or is it going to be a case of trying to get the best mix of money and speed?

Di Resta and Hulkenberg confirmed at Force Indie.
Sutil, Buemi, Alguesuari, Senna, Petrov, Rubens, Liuzzi + others fighting for two seats?

Kubica will never make it back to F1 imo. I agree that he'll never return, but I thought that last year anyway. Breaking his leg will have no consequence in his recovery at all. He wasn't going to have a race seat for 2012 anyway as he's cut ties with Renault/Lotus. I could see Ferrari help him recover later this year with the aim of getting him to replace Massa in 2013.
