so I still don't get why this isn't a big hit in the UK?? did everybody do the pre-order thing or is it just that the general public is not interested??? I think it is disinterest here. She is getting top 5 debuts in the the first set of european charts plus is #5 on US itunes now. Only really UK & Australia is she flopping.

Madonna record-breaker as pre-release MDNA tops charts in 50 countries
12:13 | Friday February 10, 2012
Madonna has already achieved record-breaking pre-order figures with new album MDNA, reaching No. 1 in 50 countries.
Her record label Interscope confirmed the impressive statistics today. The firm revealed that the feat constitutes the largest one-day pre-order figures in iTunes history.
Additionally, YouTube downloads of the new Madonna video recently amounted to 11,000,000 and was the most searched subject on YouTube and Google during the Super Bowl.
Madonna’s Super Bowl halftime performance peaked at 117.8 million viewers – 3 million more than the actual American Football game – and is also the largest viewership for a halftime show in Super Bowl history.
Madonna said: “Thanks for all the L-U-V!! From around the world.”

With the lead single falling in the charts like a dead weight, she has released her second single to radio today at 5PM GMT:
Girl Gone Wild
All I can say is I hope it grows on me, because it sounds like something LMFAO would come up with and submit for Rihanna's next album. After Hard Candy, the last thing she could afford to do (critically at least) was make something very generic. But to my ears this is hugely generic, sounding like an inferior hybrid of Get Together & Celebration given a 2012 "in the club" mix. .... But maybe it's so generic then radio will play it heavily, unlike her last 80s throwback single which I loved (before the rapping inserts were crowbarred in).

I think I like it more than GMAYL but again I'm a little disappointed Hopefully the album will pack more of a punch as a whole.

I'm very disappointed too. Not just with the song but Madonna in general. It's a bit sad that from someone who would lead the pack and introduce trends into the mainstream she's become the act that signals the death of a trend. It's already happened with Hard Candy which appeared when everyone was sick of the Timbaland sound and now this comes out when people are obviously getting sick of the Americanized Eurodance sound that's been done by everyone and their dog over the last two years.

Apparently Kazaky are going to be featured in a new Madonna video! Most likey for 3rd single since GGW has already been wrapped up. Here's one of their videos for anyone who's not familiar! Fierce.

I think the instrumental is the best part of the song, but it's horrendously generic and faceless. The vocals in the song are horrendous - no one can ever criticise Britney for ever sounding robotic anymore, now that this has come out - the chorus is pretty weak too.
Just such a disappointing era so far.

MadonnaTribe has an exciting and esclusive update on the new Madonna album at less than one month from its March 26 release.
The MDNA tracklisting welcomes a track called "Best Friend". "Best Friend" is a brand new song co-produced by Benny Benassi and it will be exclusive to the Deluxe Edition of the new record.
And there is more to report, first of all the news that the Deluxe Edition is confirmed to have 17 tracks - but only one is a remix, four extra tracks are all brand new songs!
MDNA will be published in two different formats. The Standard edition is confirmed to include 12 tracks, 4 more new songs and the "Party Rock Remix" of Give Me All Your Luvin' will be exclusive to the Deluxe Edition.
The physical release of the "MDNA" Deluxe Edition will be a 2 CD set. Disc One will be the same of the Standard edition, and the bonus tracks will be available on Disc Two.
Overall, 6 songs in the new album are produced by William Orbit, and 6 tracks are signed by Martin Solveig.
Benny and Alle Benassi were know as the contributors of two songs, but "Best Friend" brings their share up to 3.
The last song in the lot is produced by Hardy "Indiigo" Muanza. And Madonna, of course.
There have been small tweaks in both the song titles and the tracklist, the latter does not appear exactly as the one listed in the pre-order page on iTunes. "Girl Gone Wild" is now listed with the new title, but more importantly there has been a swap between two songs in the Standard and Deluxe edition.
"B-day Song" will now be exclusive to the Deluxe Edition. Please note that the song does include a featuring by "M.I.A.".
On the other hand, "Love Spent" leaves the tracklist of the Deluxe Edition to join that of the Standard release. This also means that all the Orbit-signed tracks are featured in the Standard CD.
The tracklist is still considered subject to change as manufacturing of the physical release has not started yet, leaving a window open to last minute changes.
So far the tracklist:
1.”Girl Gone Wild” 2. “Gang Bang” 3. “I’m Addicted” 4. “Some Girls” 5. “I Don’t Give A” 6. “Turn Up the Radio” 7. “Give Me All Your Luvin’” 8. “Love Spent” 9. “Superstar” 10. “I’m a Sinner” 11. “Masterpiece” 12. “Falling Free”
Deluxe Edition 14. “I **** Up” 15. “Beautiful Killer" 16. "Best Friend" 17. “B-day Song” 18."Give Me All Your Luvin' (Party Rock Remix)"

So apparently, her manager claimed that there will be no TV promo for this album now that Madonna's rehearsing for the tour. She's obviously been chatting to Britney about how to promote an album

So apparently, her manager claimed that there will be no TV promo for this album now that Madonna's rehearsing for the tour. She's obviously been chatting to Britney about how to promote an album Her management are also doing the old U2 last album trick of allowing music journalists to go to previews of the new album, and mentioning that she will be available to do a very limited number of UK media newspaper/magazine interviews to promote the album in the near future. So of course just like U2's subsequent career nadir No Line On The Horizon it is getting largely great to rave reviews from the UK media. Whilst she's been showing all her young pretenders who's still the reigning Queen Of Pop ..... by Girl Gone Wild debuting in the Billboard single chart at #106; in the week the USA has it's first Rock Billboard Singles #1 (Fun. ft Janelle Monae - We Are Young) since Nickelback's How You Remind Me ... doh. On a more positive note Masterpiece was made Radio 2's Record Of The Week; and has now been A-Listed by Radio 2 & Heart FM. Yet Girl Gone Wild remains unloved. In the meantime three one minute clips have been released: I'm Addicted Love Spent Gang Bang I'm unimpressed by I'm Addicted; Love Spent sounds great as you would expect from a William Orbit production but I'm not sure it has a strong enough melody there; but Gang Bang sounds amazing = exactly the sort of stuff Madonna should have been doing for this album.

The album has practically leaked now (it's just Superstar yet to leak from the standard edition, and then the deluxe tracks).

From my initial optimism, I somehow feel this project is dead in the water already. Everything that has leaked is just not that good. Apart from Masterpiece, and that was hardly the belting ballad I wanted (although is the highlight for me so far).

I never compare artists but the video is very Alejandro. I like it though. That's an absolutely ridiculous statement to make considering how much resemblance Alejandro has to previous Madonna videos. Everyone slated GaGa when that video came out because of it's similarities to Madonna and Janet Jackson videos.

Everyone slated GaGa when that video came out because of it's similarities to Madonna and Janet Jackson videos. Which shows how ignorant they were of where Janet Jackson & Madonna got their inspiration from. Alejandro's imagery was more specifically a rip off of three cult movies: Andy Warhol's I, A Man (1967); Ken Russell's The Devils (1971) and the cult 1981 German movie Christiane F. – We Children from Bahnhof Zoo. As for Madonna's album (sighs) from what I've heard, it looks like far from Hard Candy being just a career blip, it represented her decline from greatness. Ask me at the end of the year but I think MDNA will become my 2nd least favourite Madonna album.

I didn't say Lady GaGa copies Madonna or Janet or whoever i was just saying the men in heels and the whips and chains ect... reminded me of Alejandro.
