Six nations kicked off. Starting on Saturday. Amazed there's no thread.
Ireland beat grand slam champions Wales 30-22. England beat Scotland in the Calcutta cup match 38-18. Sunday saw the shock result of Italy beating France 23-18. This was the first time Italy had nationwide coverage of a rugby match. This is the second time Italy have beaten France after the victory two years ago.
So the table as it stands is:
England
Ireland
Italy
France
Wales
Scotland

It's a shame that England against Ireland in the next round is probably the decider.

What a rubbish team England are, the way they've been playing against lowly Scotland, in a match they could have lost and only won a game on kicks against Ireland, would make it hard for me to believe this team beat New Zealand if I did not follow Rugby and somebody told me they did after the game.

Lowly Scotland? They will beat France. England have played how they know they'll win. Ireland gave no space to create. It's Wales who look below average.

Yeah, winning by 20 points and then not allowing a try - they're so sh*t... You've had an absolute shocker there...

Are France actually in danger of getting no points here? Two away matches to come and then a make or break game at home to Scotland.

At one point Scotland had a line out near your try line, if they won it, they would have taken the lead and it could have changed the tide of the game. Enjoy this little glory run while it lasts while singing about stupid chariots swinging low. Heck, you even have to steal an old American folk song, then adopt it as your rugby anthem rather than make your own. It's even more annoying than Come Abide With Me before the FA Cup Final, which also has NOTHING to do with the sport being played.

France's last wooden spoon was 1999, the last ever 5 Nations. They should have had 0 points then, only for Ireland to miss an easy penalty in the last action of their game against France.

England take their chances clinically whereas Scotland don't. Yet...

Very disappointing to see France get off the mark.
Incredibly happy though that England and Wales (my dad is English, my Mum Welsh) will be fighting it out for the title next week.

Hahaha!!!, it don't matter about taking chances, we took ours and tore England a new one!.
We're now joint top on the number of championships won. Do wish the BBC would stop using "Skyfall" on every rugby montage though.
