We said centre-beck, not Welbeck! Having said that, his goalscoring rate is a lot better than Sanogo's, and we've been crying out for some reinforcement in that department, too.

Just saw Blind being interviewed for MUTV.
So that's another one signed up.

I hope he gets plenty of goals for Arsenal, always liked him, and never understood the hate towards him. United are letting so many good players leave, Hernandez and Kagawa, just seems bonkers. Stags have sold Clucas to Cheaterfield, and got in a striker who used to be at Wigan and hasn't scored a competitive goal yet, hope he gets one soon, or the Stags fans with one brain cell will turn on him ![:(](//storage.proboards.com/999290/images/xKFbNBMdczwHHIvwbxXw.gif)

It'll be interesting to see how they line up, and if van Gaal persists with his Football Manager circa 2005 style formation.

Unusually good last day for Reading. Drenthe off to Sheffield Weds until Jan, would have preferred a season's loan but him going at all is a bonus as didn't expect him to be going this late in the window. Be interesting to see how long it takes for him to actually play for them though. He hasn't played a single game since pre-season started.
Glenn Murray on loan from Palace until Jan, would have preferred it to be for the season but glad it's a loan rather than a permanent deal as it removes the uncertainty/risk about his effectiveness post injury.

problem with kagawa is he can only play in the hole behind the strikers and they have mata, rooney, di maria and janujaz who are all arguably better
hernandez has been found out big style last season, he is very much like darren bent in his prime, has 3 touches all game and one of them is putting it in the net, problem for man u is when things went wrong a player like that is like playing with 10 men, you need a striker to drop deep, link up play, make space for others, close down players, hernandez only had running over the top and heading in his locker, in the right team he can be lethal for man u now he is wasted, I know a few man u fans and they blame him for man u poor form last seasn, he never stepped up when rvp or rooney were injured
as for wellbeck the season before last he had the worst goals to minutes ratio in the whole of the premiership, even behind carlton cole! and was still a regular for england (where to be fair performed much better). I want him to do well and I reckon he is a god fit for arsenal

Just look at what going to Liverpool has done for Sturridge's career. In fact I think he'll thrive even more playing as a lone striker. People can just look at his goal tally and base their opinion on that, but he's more than just a goal scorer. He can hold it up and use his pace to stretch and beat defenders, so ideal attributes to play in the lone striker role. I've been impressed when I've seen him live for England, remember one game when he came on in a friendly against Spain as a lone striker and the Spanish defenders struggled to cope with his pace. Anyone who performs better for country than club gets a thumbs up from me!

So England V Norway. I've put money on Tettey score first Norway to win 2-0. Came to a nice tidy sum, hope it comes true ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/999290/images/WkoAxKupDXiUlSqYdleR.gif) .

Well, I'd like to see England win so I hope you lose your bet! ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/999290/images/VlIgriqcSABxIkcFJKdM.gif) Unfortunately we are pretty much rubbish under Hodgson and if I was a betting man I would go for a 0-0 draw. I'm not sure what the odds are on a 0-0 draw though...

1-0 at full time.
Not the most exciting of matches. Both teams looked like they were going through the motions at times.

Looks like my decision not to bother watching it was a good one. Actually, I haven't watched an England friendly for ages. Sven's habit of a string of substitutions made them hard to watch and the fact they are all on ITV just adds to the ordeal.

They got the win in the end with a penalty, overall the game was a poor performance. I expected them to win that game with at least 3 goals against a team that never made the World Cup finals. Rooney was useless as a wittled broccoli.
And Germany losing to Argentina 4-2 what a turn around from the World Cup final match.
