Tough ties for both. I'll have to check when I have more time but I think Ellistown & Ibstock could well be the lowest-ranked team remaining in the competition. Marske knocked out Halesowen last season with a goal in the last minute of a dramatic match played in front of a crowd of over 800. But Halesowen went on to win the EvoStik South and earn promotion to the Premier, meaning they are playing 3 levels higher than their opponents.

Marske out of the FA Cup after losing our replay 2-0 at Dunston. No complaints about the result - they were the better team on the night but we should've got the job done on Saturday. We'll just have to win the FA Vase instead...

Noticed that Daz's local team Shildon pulled off a cup shock by beating Stalybridge Celtic 1-0.
Big wins for Bromley (albeit v 10 men), Ebbsfleet and Maidenhead, with DJ Campbell scoring on his Maidenhead debut! No idea how long he'll be at Maidenhead for but he should do very well for them in the time he's there.

Great result for Shildon, beating a team 3 divisions higher. They were the last Northern League team to reach the First Round Proper over a decade ago, when they ended up playing Notts County, and are two wins away from doing it again. There have been a few near misses in recent years (Marske last season, Hebburn and Ashington three years ago - all three getting tough away draws against Conference Premier sides in the final qualifying round).

Just noticed that Iyseden Christie scored 6 goals for Halesowen, know him well from his time at Mansfield Town, great to see he is still scoring goals at 37 years of age!

Think this is the full draw, and the Conference teams join in the next round, then it is round 1 proper? That's right. Ooh, Boreham Wood could become one of our teams. They're a team that has close ties with Arsenal. The Ladies and Youth teams play most home matches there, we have an annual friendly against them, and their new stand was opened by Arsene Wenger this summer.

Speaking of the draw, i'm sure I heard Colin Murray say on his Talksport show this week that the draw will be done on his show next Monday morning. Then made some comment about it being the first time that stage of the draw has been made by humans...or something. Odd thing to say but I know what he was getting at.

Interesting, so who did it in the 1890s?
