I just wanted to acknowledge that Rory McIlroy has been outstanding.

I have no idea what that means.

You mean he can walk in a big circle! He does have to stop occasionally to hit a little ball with a stick.

Golf.... the most boring sport in the world, watching golfers hitting a ball with a stick.
Actually I remember an incident with a awol golf ball, driving pass a golf course and a golf ball heads towards my windscreen, had a nasty crack.

Awaiting the leaders tee off times.
Terrific performance by Tom Watson. Next year at St. Andrews may be his last ever Open.

Well, Sergio Garcia put up a terrific showing in the final round and McIlroy's lead was eroded but any hint of drama faded with about four holes to play and it was evident that Rory would see it through to completion.
Now he has three of the major titles under his belt at just 25.

It was a disappointing Open for Tiger Woods. He made a useful start with 69 on the opening day but he then wasted that by hitting 77 and only just surviving the cut after day 2.
Two more lackluster rounds of 73 and 75 saw him end at +6 in 69th place. A huge deficit of 23 strokes behind the winner.
Woods even finished behind former Open champion Tom Watson who shot one over par for the tournament at the age of 64.

An honorable mention for Sergio Garcia, now 34 and perhaps destined not to win a major title.
He has been on the brink four times now but never quite crossed the finishing line. 2nd or tied for 2nd on four occasions now - the PGA 1999, the Open 2007, the PGA 2008 and, of course the Open 2014.
