European runners-up table: (despite all groups now having 6 teams after the admission of Kosovo and Gibraltar, the original rule of results against 6th-placed teams not counting in the runners-up table remains in place)
1. Italy 3-7 (+3) 2. Iceland 3-7 (+3) 3. Greece 2-6 (+4) 4. Sweden 2-4 (+3) 5. Poland 2-4 (+1) 6. Ireland 2-4 (+1) 7. Azerbaijan 2-4 (+1) 8. Portugal 2-3 (+4) --------------------- 9. Lithuania 2-2 (0)
The top 8 runners-up qualify for the playoffs.

The South American competition continues to be incredibly tight and Argentina are suddenly in a spot of bother after three games without a win and Paraguay and Chile breathing down their necks. Venezuela could be eliminated as early as next month.

Went to Wembley last night for the big England-Scotland game. Would have taken 2-0 so pretty pleased with the 3-0 result, thought we should have added a 4th goal though 4-0 would have been a bit flattering I think. Best atmosphere I've experienced for an England game, both before and during the game, we were in the "home end" behind the goal where the 2nd half goals were scored, and were able to stand (though I didn't bother until the 2nd goal went in).
Don't know whether the TV cameras picked up on it (will probably watch the game back later today) but there was a massive punch up in the stand to our right which was an unsavoury end to the evening.

[/quote] From what I've read it seems the guy being punched was a Scotland fan in that end who wasn't exactly shy at showing his allegiance... Looked like he was completely p*ssed,as well as having blood pouring down his face.
