I try to finish 70s thread in 2 weeks and want to continue a long music journey with the next decade. Rules are the same, I will post my personal 80s decade ranking of UK # 1 singles from my least favourites to the best. You always can try to predict my favourite and least favourite # 1s. Please, don't judge me very strict. Coming soon. 70s thread here : fatherandy2.proboards.com/thread/86281/singles-uk-alexs-ranking-70s

Also you can post yours top and bottom list of UK # 1s in 80s. It can be interesting to compare them with my ranking.
I exclude "Living Doll" from the list, because it was # 1 in 50s and both 80s versions of "Do They Know It's Christmas ?" are combined in my ranking.
Which song will get the last 189th place ?

I predict something like John Lennon's Imagine. Maybe it's the one from small number of iconic songs, which I don't hate or dislike.

I predict high places for Bucks Fizz and Nicole, and maybe even Johnny Logan.

Charlene's 'I've never been to me' for #1.
That would actually feature pretty highly if I did my own chart though to be honest.

At the time I wasn't big fans of the top 3 but as I got more into dance music in the 90s I appreciate them more especially s-Xpress . 'Fame' ain't half as good as 'Flashdance'

My least favourite #1 by year are:
80: St Winifred's School Choir - There's No One Quite Like Grandma 81: Joe Dolce Music Theatre - Shaddup You Face 82: Goombay Dance Band - Seven Tears 83: Flying Pickets - Only You 84: Stevie Wonder - I Just Called To Say I Love You 85: USA For Africa -We Are The World 86: Chris De Burgh - The Lady In Red 87: Steve Silk Hurley - Jack Your Body 88: Kylie Minogue - I Should Be So Lucky 89: Jive Bunny & The Mastermixers - Let's Party
some are saved from getting on that list by there being a worse one, e.g. Ferry Aid is probably worse than USA For Africa which is probably the least bad of the 10, and Renee & Renato is worse than several others on that list.

My least favourite #1 by year are: 86: Chris De Burgh - The Lady In Red Very unpredictable choice. What's wrong with this song ?
Which songs are your favourite #1s from each 80s year ?

not really i think its the 3rd worst number of 1986 behind Nick Berry and Diana Ross, Boris Gardiner is awful as well. Whats wrong with it where do you start its drippy, pathetic, its where Chris De burgh lost any credibility he had forever, its just yuk.
