That. Was. Awesome. And one of the saddest deaths of any Game of Thrones character

That. Was. Awesome. And one of the saddest deaths of any Game of Thrones character I totally agree! I think it was even more upsetting then the red wedding

Yup, had a little cry. I'm worried for Bran now. Also, can he still trip into the past despite unlinking from the tree? Feels like he never achieved everything he was supposed to. Also, he's now definitely in line to send the Mad King mad by messing about with history like he did with poor Wyllis .

I'm more worried about poor Meera who's going to have to drag him around everywhere all by herself from now on.

Can we please remember that UK Pace, is 8 or 9pm on the monday, saying someone has died before some of us have watched the ep. is a major spoiler, saying it was great and awesome is fine. I actually thought it was quite an average episode setting up a lot of stories, with a great revealing ending.

It can be watched live, recorded or watched on demand as I do in a morning. The 9pm evening slot is not the first watch for UK viewers.

9pm is the official time in all the tv papers though, so I'd like people to stick to that time. I cant watch it in the morning, I dont have time before work, and even if I did, I wouldn't expect everyone else to have watched it before it is aired on Sky Atlantic.

And if you didn't have time to watch it tonight, but recorded it, would tomorrow be the official time? It *IS* aired on Sky Atlantic in the early hours of Monday morning, so that's also in the TV guide. 2am is the official time even on Sky's own website. www.sky.com/watch/channel/sky-atlantic/game-of-thronesI'm not trying to be argumentative but your point is wrong. Perhaps those who chose to watch it later, at the 9pm slot should not come into the thread until after then?

If we have to wait for the last person to watch it before discussing it, I won't be discussing it at all because the moment will be gone. If you don't want spoilers, surely you can just avoid the thread for all of one day?

What a great episode. Someone suggested that perhaps Bran also caused the Mad King to go mad by providing the voice he heard 'inside his head'. Anything is plausible now after what happened to Hodor. Still trying to get my head around how he might manipulate other timelines.

That was a great episode, I comment tomorrow, too tired to string a sentence together.

I'm sorry if anyone was spoiled by what I said but I thought it was fair game as I didn't expect anyone to actually read the thread in the narrow window between the 2am airing and the 9pm airing who hadn't already seen it. I get really annoyed about spoilers too, but I'm sorry, if you read a thread just after a new episode has aired, it's bound to happen. I usually watch the 2am airing, but if for whatever reason I can't, I avoid reading anything GoT-related until I have caught up. I'm also about 90% sure I've called Andy out on spoilers in other threads before so I find this pretty funny

You've called me out on BOOK spoilers I didn't know it was shown at 2am, my tv paper has NEW EPISODE at 9pm, so I go by that time. I only had a problem with the death being announced. I have tended to come in here Monday morning/afternoon in order to gauge the opinion of those that have watched it early, I'll know not to do that from now on And the final ep. I think I will be watching that live (now I know about it) and then taking the day off work!!!

one thing I didn't get 100%... the children of the forest created the walkers??? why? and how? We did see the why and how in the episode, as obscure as it was. Why? - because they were afraid of mankind encroaching upon them so built a line of defence. How? - well, by sticking that thing in that man near that tree. Magic and all that!

Does anyone else feel that the last scene of that episode has had an enormous effect on the audience?? As far as I recall the show hasn't evoked such a strong reaction since the Red Wedding, and the show is even bigger now than it was back then.
I think it was incredible how they turned one of the longest standing comic relief characters into one of the saddest stories.

I think it was incredible how they turned one of the longest standing comic relief characters into one of the saddest stories. Definitely. It was one of those "Lost" moments, when that show was at its height too, a really clever rewarding moment where the audience goes "ohhhh riiiight!" (akin to such moments in "The Usual Suspects" or "Fight Club") but also an emotional exit too. I was only further saddened that the scene ended with the younger actor who'd only appeared twice so far, not the regular!
