She's really pretty but I prefer her with her wild look. Even if it was cool to see her with good hair for once.

Funnily enough, when Gilly had her 'makeover' I was reminded of once seeing a photo of Hannah Murray (the actress) at a red carpet event and being like 'who's that, I don't recognise th-HOLY CRAP!'

I'm happy to know that she will stay with Sam. I love her. She's sweet and strong, exactly the kind of person he needs to grow more confident.

I wouldn't be at all upset if Sam and Gilly were just killed off suddenly so we don't have to waste anymore time witnessing their arc

Aww, I love Sam and Gilly! It's true they are quite far removed from the rest of the action at the moment, but they give me the warm fuzzies

Him being a maester is obviously very important, I'm just not sure why?

Him being a maester is obviously very important, I'm just not sure why? I suppose because like Bran, it was a link to the sometimes-forgotten history of Westeros. Through books, Sam was able to learn things about the Night's Watch, about the wildlings etc. In the books, it seemed uncertain why Sam is off to Oldtown other than that's where things are going to kick off next (some rather weird bits in the book I recall!). But is he even going there still now?!

Im warming to the series a little more with each episode but still feel like I havent been wowed yet! khallisi is boring me a bit, Ive worked out she doesnt really do an awful lot, tells people to join her and ocassionally ride a dragon. the many faced god story i think is finally coming to an end, anyone know how many episodes are in this series?

Is it wrong that I am enjoying the plays more than the real Game Of Thrones right now ??

Is it plausible that the white walkers will come after Gilly's son? He was promised as a sacrifice to the white walkers many seasons ago so they might still feel he belongs with them.
I also loved the plays and could have happily watched an entire episode based on them alone!

Just a rumour from a mate, not sure where he heard it, but those 8 would be the last 8, hence our rapid pace towards the end game...

The show writers have stated that they are pushing for shorter seasons for S7 and S8. They've written the show based on about 15 episodes across the final 2 seasons. I think it's because of how difficult they're finding it to shoot 10 episodes in a year with so much going on. HBO are pushing for 10 episodes per season though, unsurprisingly. No agreement has been made yet.

This sounds very reminiscent of "Lost" now, not in terms of what's on screen but going on behind the scenes! Producers wanted to end that show with two lots of 24 episodes but were persuaded to make it 3 lots of 16(ish) so as to drag the show on for another season and therefore create more money. Hope any decisions are made for creative purposes primarily, not just for stringing the show along to make more money.
