Will be released at 8pm tonight. I think you will hear it very soon after 8PM on X and 6Music, Im sure Annie Mac will play it as well in fact she is playing it at 7:45!! www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-36275003gawd this is so exciting, I remember waiting for the first play of 'Love Spreads' , no joke that they were the most important band in my life for 3 years. ooh so far it doesnt disappoint although doesnt help that I had 'Dogtanian and the Muskehounds' in my head today must have been a premonition.

On first listen, I like it. There's a definite Beatles feel to it at the beginning.

I rank it on parr with 'One Love' at the moment weaker than anything of 'The stone roses' but fun and decent Stone roses by numbers.

It is classic Stone Roses but it is not likely to do well IMO as most of the young streamers and downloaders know nothing of Indie rock and probably don't want to.
Nice for those of a certain age who liked indie but it won't be anymore than a niche release it might get Steve Lamacq and Jo Wiley's girdles wet but not the audience it needs to.

^straight in at #49 on Spotify with over 100,000 streams in 4 hours so some people on Spotify clearly cared #1 on itunes immediately and with over 50% lead right now

Well Annie Mac played it first so that is younger listeners right away

Amazed by all the praise. The song sounds like something a bunch of school kids knocked up in their lunch break. Given how long they have meant to be working on this album to release something that sounds so lazy is annoying. To be fair the hook is catchy, but it is the terrible lyrics that ruin it. Imagine it has got the reaction it has because people want it to be good. Interesting to see what the album brings.

I have heard this argumnet about bad lyrics and NME countered this with one statement, 'I Wanna Be Adored' only has 15 different words in it and it is amazing.

Exactly. It's the Stone Roses, they are hardly the voice of a generation with witty plays on words that make you think about a deeper meaning I'm life. They are about the melody and vibe of the song not the lyrics and this is classic Stone Roses
I like it because I like it. Elephant Stone has no words, I wanna be adored has 14 and waterfall is about someone being a waterfall and for about 4 minutes of she bangs the drums is just repeated
Have you seen her have you heard The way she plays there are no words To describe the way I feel
How could it ever come to pass She'll be the first she'll be the last To describe the way I feel The way I feel
Have you seen her have you heard The way she plays there are no words To describe the way I feel

That is true about their lyrics and I really like This Is The One which just pretty much repeats that line. I just think though it is one of the reasons why they are massively over rated as a band. That doesn't mean I don't like them it just means I don't think they deserve to be rated as high as they are.

Apart from The Happy Mondays most Madchester music was quite simplistic lyrically basically as it was indie music you could dance to and wave your hands about and repetition is one of the things you need.
But The Stone Roses were more than the some of their parts, it was the feel, the sound, the mood, the timing. They really did change peoples lives I went from a Gunsnroses fan to a Stone Roses fan over night.

yeh I like this and it did well to get to no.17! although Im less impressed of their milking of the physical format. released on 7" and cd single with just the 1 track!! what a waste of time.

If there's really only one track on the 7" it'll get warped.
