I wonder if Robbie had a bet on the game last night, hopefully not for a 1-0 win! After watching the highlights this morning (I didn't know the result before) i'm disappointed as well! Partly because of predicta, but also because it pushes Reading down a place. Though saying that I would rather we finished 5th or 6th as it would mean we'd have the home leg first.

Sam ran round the local sports bar we were in when Leeds scored, it was a good goal, but I think the locals thought Crazy English!

Update: I got tickets! I'll be going with a couple of my workmates. I was thinking of that game yesterday afternoon, it's looking quite possible that Maidenhead could clinch it then! Winning the title at home against the nearest challengers would be the perfect way to do it. It kinda makes me wish I was going... At once point today I thought it'd be sooner - Eastbourne were 1-0 up at Ebbsfleet at half time, but lost 4-1 in the end.

Sam ran round the local sports bar we were in when Leeds scored, it was a good goal, but I think the locals thought Crazy English! Was going to add I bet Sam was pleased! Was a bit concerned after yesterday's results but we're back in control after today's incredible 3-1 win at Aston Villa, with Mendes scoring twice having barely played for us (he did look very impressive in one U23 game I saw though so I did wonder if he might start getting a chance off the bench - didn't see him starting though!) and Grabban involved in all the goals having not done much since he arrived in January. Still can't quite believe it! Villa don't lose many at home and we've never won in the league at Villa Park before. 6 points clear of 7th with 4 games left, and two home games against Rotherham and Wigan (Rotherham already down of course and Wigan probably will be too by the time we play them), we should make it from here.
Hopefully we can boost the goal difference on Monday with a big win against Rotherham!

Easter Monday and it's another big day in the Championship. Brighton will all be but promoted if they win this afternoon as even if they lose all their other games and Huddersfield win all their, the superior goal difference will see them through.
As for Newcastle... we should have beat Leeds the other day but threw away 2 points due to the fact we can't kill off games. I've put £5 on us to win 2-0 in our away game to Ipswich so fingers crossed that's the score, though I'll be happy with a win, whatever the score.
Reading should move into third place for at least a few hours unless they slip up against Rotherham. as the latter have nothing left to play for they'll either roll over or will play brilliantly.
Hopefully, in the late kick-off, Derby will beat Huddersfield and can do both us and Reading a favour. That will cheer both Tom and myself up!
Leeds have a never-say-die attitude - as they showed against us the other night - and should overcome a poor Wolves team.
Sheff Wed and Fulham will both be scrapping for points to secure a play-off place with Fulham looking to have the easier game.
In the Premier League, I hope Boro can beat Arsenal tonight and can give themselves some hope of staying up. I'd rather Sunderland could have managed to stay up, simply to have a Tyne-Wear derby but they are now doomed to relegation. I just hope we don't have a Tyne-Wear derby in the Championship next season!

I wonder if Robbie had a bet on the game last night, hopefully not for a 1-0 win! I had been considering for a couple of weeks putting a bet on Leeds to win 3-0! I never placed a bet in the end but I was gutted when Leeds scored right at the end. I just knew it was coming though, we can't kill off games by getting a second goal. Fair play to Leeds though, they never gave in. That never say die attitude is what sometimes makes Championship games a better watch than watching overpaid Premier League players just strutting around like they don't care what the outcome is. There's more soul in a championship game. Oh, and when Leeds scored, my next door neighbours must once again have thought "we've got a nutter living next door"! as my language was choice to say the least...

I just hope we don't have a Tyne-Wear derby in the Championship next season! Must admit it took me a few moments to work out why the Derby-Huddersfield result is important to me. I'm not really fussed about whether we overtake Huddersfield, it's all about the gap to 7th. Plus if we finish 3rd and play Fulham in the playoffs I wouldn't be happy as they're the team I want to avoid! My feelings have softened after the result on Saturday when we had a whole week to prepare for the game, but I still don't think there's an advantage for us to finish 3rd or 4th and have a home leg 2nd (even if we might have more or less a whole week to prepare for an away 1st leg) - we're too unpredictable away from home so there's always the chance that we might give ourselves too much to do going into a home 2nd leg.
All i'm interested in today is a big win against Rotherham, though i'd take any kind of win really - we have suffered this season after a big result/performance when the next game is only a few days later, and obviously we've got even less time to prepare for today's game having played a day later than everyone else.

Rotherham haven't won away all season so looks good for 3 points Oh, I wasn't suggesting we won't win, it just wouldn't surprise me if there's a comedown after Saturday and we end up winning ugly. I was dreaming yesterday of us being 4-0 up in something like 10 mins!
Also, why is Fulham's match kicking off at 2.45 today? It's not on Sky is it? Oh, it is, so it's strange that Sky are showing a match at the same time as other 3pm kickoffs.

your right that is odd, especially considering there are 4 games left and they are a few points outside the playoffs

Newcastle are getting beat again. First it was 1-0, then we came back to 1-1. Now it's Ipswich in front again, 2-1. Come on Rafa, get this rag bag team playing

3-1 to Ipswich Well done to Brighton, all but promoted - they deserve it as they've been the best team in the Championship all season.

Come on Derby! It will both confirm Brighton getting promoted and will give Newcastle some breathing space...

Put your money on Birmingham City being relegated. They've just appointed Harry Redknapp as manager, and he's overseen relegations for Bournemouth, Southampton, Portsmouth and QPR. He is, without question, the most over-rated manager in the recent history of English football.
Their last 3 fixtures aren't easy - away to Villa, home to Huddersfield, away to Bristol City.

Why does he need the money? Surely he can claim his pension now?

I wonder how 'arry will do at Birmingham but it's really a matter of hanging on this season no matter who is in charge.
