Mourinho's first season and via the Europa Cup they qualified for the Champions League plus they won 2 trophies this season.
Next season he can attract better players as they will be playing CL football and I'd tip them to finish 2nd behind Chelsea.
There's a big 6 now. But I think Spurs will falter next season being at Wembley. Remember Liverpool came 2nd twice, in 2009 and 2014, being close to champions both seasons and having enough points to be champions most seasons (in 2009 with more points than Tottenham got last season). But both times they didn't finish top 4 the next season.
With regards to Liverpool, they just dropped too many stupid points against much weaker teams. They had the best head-to-head record between teams in the top 6.

Man U will attract better players than Pogba and Ibrahimovic? He's spent a fortune, but it's paid off with the promise land of champs league football!

If they lost that he needed sacking. Awful team to watch. Anyone can win if you set up like that and have much much much much better players but over a league season you get found out

Gary Monk has resigned as Leeds manager. The rumour last week was he was going to be Middlesbrough manager so we'll see if he ends up there... I'm sure he won't be the Sunderland boss. Or perhaps he's off to Crystal Palace?

Sam is gutted He thinks he's off to Palace, rumour is they're getting the old Middlesbrough boss, but quite funny then if Monk ends up at Middlesbrough. Seems odd to turn down a 3 year contract at Leeds, where the fans like you, and you've finally get a new owner?

Bit of an odd one if it's a sideways step

I've not met Leeds' new owner, and I suspect no-one else at Haven has. Whereas Garry Monk has met him. That might be a factor.
I agree that Middlesbrough, Sunderland or Watford would be a strange next step. I can see Crystal Palace having more appeal.
But many Southampton fans are saying they want rid of Claude Puel (not because of the results this season, but because they think his teams play such dull football). Monk joined Southampton as a 17 year-old, and spent 8 years on their books. The Saints fans forums are pretty divided on whether they do or don't want him.

Oh please just let Palace go down next season..
Newcastle will probably be safe next season. Brighton I don't know. Reading or Huddersfield, I doubt it..
Watford just sack managers all the time. So do Swansea. For both those teams, safe mid-table is all they will ever be.

I expect it's all they want if it comes with £££££££££ each season?

Not that i'm going to be too bothered about that if Monday turns out to be a special day..

If you're going to go down in 2018 anyway it's better you go up now so you end up back in the championship rather than finding yourself in league 1 in 2018-19

Yes! Celtic 2 Aberdeen 1. A wonderful Scottish FA Cup final and Celtic scored the winner in the last minute. Brilliant!

This afternoon you could have got odds of 13-2 on the reds beating the blues.
The blues are the current champions, whilst the reds have in the last year suffered from a large section of their fan base not supporting their leader; whilst having selection issues within the team due to some of their best players missing; as well as disquiet from within the team.
As Piers Morgan who is firmly against their leader in question predicted the reds had two hopes .... No & Bob.
In other news, Arsenal beat Chelski 2-1 at odds of 13-2 in one of the Best FA Cup Finals I can ever remember. Delighting one famous Arsenal supporter:

Every time Celtic win anything it just shows that Scotland are a one-team league which makes it boring. Same way it is good that Chelsea didn't do the double here but England are certainly not a one-team league. The early 80s, when Celtic, Dundee United, Aberdeen and to some extent Rangers and Hearts were competitive was a much better time for Scottish football, and Aberdeen won the Cup-Winners Cup in 1983 beating Real Madrid in the final and Bayern Munich in an earlier round, and Dundee United reached the UEFA Cup final in 1987 beating Barcelona home and away in the semi-final.

Scotland isn't the only one team league. For comparison: Celtic are on 6 titles in a row now; Bayern Munich have won 5 in a row (13 of the last 19); Juventus are also at 6 in a row, and have won the Double 3 times in a row (there is no Italian League cup). Which team will slip first? Leagues of comparable standing to Scotland though (judging by UEFA ranking) are Israel, Denmark, Azerbaijan and Serbia. Here are their dominant clubs over the past 6 years: - Maccabi Tel Aviv: 6-1-1-1-2-2
- FC Kopenhagen: 2-1-2-2-1-1
- Qarabag: 3-?-2-1-1-1
- FK Partizan (Belgrade): 1-1-2-1-2-1 (Partizan and Red Star have an Old Firm type dominance going on)

Liverpool from 1973-1991:
1-2-2-1-1-2-1-1-5-1-1-1-2-1-2-1-2-1-2
Manchester United from 1992-2013:
2-1-1-2-1-1-2-1-1-1-3-1-3-3-2-1-1-1-2-1-2-1
And if you want: Arsenal 1998-2005
1-2-2-2-1-2-1-2
