60. Darlia – Beam Me Upwww.youtube.com/watch?v=k3rQJ5CPl5sPeak Position: 4 I hope we hear more of Darlia, they were great live when I saw them and they burst onto the scene with some great songs but as time goes by there debut album looks increasingly likely never to happen

59. Dan Auerbach – Shine on Mewww.youtube.com/watch?v=FfVRCDb0G8Q Peak Position: N/A Borrowing a line from most girls I have met on a first date "I don't normally do this but..." this song didn't chart at all for me! but it is so good I will make an exception, it was only introduced to me by Andy months after it came out so I left it for my yearly countdown

61. Reverend And The Makers – Auld Reekie Blueswww.youtube.com/watch?v=Noe6hpqDdCkPeak Position: 5 Rev have never had a huge hit in my chart, I didn't start them until 2014 and by then they only had minor hits with Bassline, Shine The Light and Mr Glasshalfempty but this ticks all the boxes for me I agree, I never thought they woudl be a big band in my chart ever again until this single. They started my chart with a number one single mind you 'Heavyweight Champion Of The World'

58. Arcade Fire – Everything Nowwww.youtube.com/watch?v=zC30BYR3CUkPeak Position: 3 The best of Arcade Fire's new album, it underperformed a bit and probably isn't up there with there first 3 albums but it was still a breath of fresh air compared to most the albums release these days

57. Brian Fallon – Forget Me Notwww.youtube.com/watch?v=1jf4qiIs2AUPeak Position: 3 From the frontman of The Gaslight Anthem, I just stumbled across it and boy I'm glad I did, its like a more acoustic Gaslight Anthem with Brian Fallon channelling his inner Bruce Springsteen

54. Waxahatchee – No Cursewww.youtube.com/watch?v=wdNyo_Q8dqE Peak Position: 5 Waxahatchee is an American indie music project, formed in 2010 by American singer-songwriter Katie Crutchfield. The band is named after Waxahatchee Creek, in Alabama. Her last 2 albums Ivy Tripp (2015) Out in the Storm (2017) have both been wonderful indie pop gems

48. Creeper – Miserywww.youtube.com/watch?v=BT83wjfs0lMPeak Position: 8 A real grower that showed a softer side to Creeper which is oddly very Jimmy Eat World, anyway I love it and it should have gone to 5 but had some tough competition from some big hitters like The Killers, Kasabian, Haim, Bastille at the time

46. Ryan Adams – To Be Without Youwww.youtube.com/watch?v=s5ZcBMCA36APeak Position: 3 Absolute CHUNE!!! This is the highest Ryan Adams song in my countdown, it peaked at #3 on the 10th February. Elsewhere Do You Still Love Me? was in my 2016 countdown at #51 after it entered my chart early December so I squeezed it into my 2016 list although it did start 2017 at #4, I also missed out Bastille - Blame which was #3 going into the new year but again made my 2016 list both quite high up
