11. Milburn – TimeFour-piece Sheffield indie rockers, Milburn, are back with their first new album in 11 years. The band split up in 2008 after releasing just two albums, Well Well Well (2006) and These Are The Facts (2007), but they were able to gain a cult following after becoming one of the seminal bands in a massively influential Sheffield indie rock scene in the mid 00’s, which also produced juggernauts like Arctic Monkeys and Reverend And The Makers. After playing some massive reunion shows last year to celebrate the ten-year anniversary of their debut album, the band finally came together in the studio to make their third studio album, Time, perhaps an apt reference to the years after Milburn broke up. This is up there with the best music they have made Nothing For You www.youtube.com/watch?v=whZIE3dnV9E A.O.S.D www.youtube.com/watch?v=seMlFX2aR7sTake Me Home www.youtube.com/watch?v=DYLulAywH20 Midnight Control www.youtube.com/watch?v=u-Ts7G6L9mc

10. VANT – Dumb BloodVANT’s politics are smeared across the whole of ‘Dumb Blood’ - unsurprising really, given that the band’s debut is essentially a ‘best of’, and as anyone who’s born witness to the quartet’s incendiary live show will attest, their musical ferocity is easily matched by a lyrical one. “The world’s got a few problems…” frontman Mattie Vant sings on ‘Fly-By Alien’, his interplanetary protagonist making somewhat of an understatement. “That species is a waste of space.” But that’s only half the story: it takes about a minute for vocals to kick in on opener ‘The Answer’ - a song referencing both wars in Afghanistan and Iraq and the one-sided nature of that so-called US-UK ‘special relationship’ - by which point the band’s riff-tastic credentials have already been well-earned. There’s the frantic punk smash of ‘Parasite’, the Nirvana-esque ‘Lampoon’, the explosive ‘Parking Lot’ - all tracks with various messages, all fantastic songs without contemplating a single lyric, sadly just as the VANT bandwagon got rolling they decided to go on an indefinite hiatus THE ANSWER www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mp7RFP3R8uEDO YOU KNOW ME? www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Yo4Iw0qITAKARMA SEEKER www.youtube.com/watch?v=NoP4kc03tFM FLY-BY ALIEN www.youtube.com/watch?v=SCMk4oKPc_sPARKING LOT www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z5wSb8UWig4LAMPOON www.youtube.com/watch?v=FBuGCKA1M_M

9. Foo Fighters – Concrete and GoldThere's no hiding the fact I'm a big fan of the Foo Fighters, a great Foo's album would be my number 1 album of the year, whilst it is a solid effort with a fair few decent tunes, its probably on the lower end of my favorite Foo Fighter albums, incase anyone is wondering these are them in order... 1. The Colour and the Shape (1997) 2. There Is Nothing Left to Lose (1999) 3. Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace (2007) 4. Wasting Light (2011) 5. In Your Honor (2005) 6. Sonic Highways (2014) 7. Concrete and Gold (2017) 8. One by One (2002) 9. Foo Fighters (1995) saying that you can see where Concrete and Gold fits in the grand scheme of things, don't get me wrong it had some great songs but a bit too much forgettable filler Run www.youtube.com/watch?v=ifwc5xgI3QMThe Sky Is A Neighborhood www.youtube.com/watch?v=TRqiFPpw2fY The Line www.youtube.com/watch?v=8TsNkgW2ox0

8. Shed Seven – Instant PleasuresInstant Pleasures, the fifth album by Shed Seven, comes out sixteen years after Truth Be Told (2001), they reformed in 2007 mainly to play live shows, I caught them live twice in 2012 and 2014, they were still great so when the York Britpoppers announced its new release earlier this year I was really looking forward to it and they didn't disappoint. 7. Greta Van Fleet – Black Smoke Rising2017 has been an incredible year for Greta Van Fleet. The young four piece band out of Michigan consists of brothers Josh Kiszka (vocals), Jake Kiszka (guitar), Sam Kiszka (bass/keyboards), and Danny Wagner (drummer). Back in April the band exploded onto the scene with the four track EP, Black Smoke Rising, which has been a major success with the single “Highway Tune” reaching #1 on the rock radio charts. Now the band returns with From The Fires, a double EP, which features all four tracks from Black Smoke Rising, plus four additional songs. Highway Tune and Safari song alone have clocked up nearly 30 million Spotify plays between them, played Coachella and had the thumbs up from Robert Plant who likes their bluesy often Led Zeppelin like sound Highway Tune www.youtube.com/watch?v=aJg4OJxp-coSafari Song [Live In The Sound Lounge] www.youtube.com/watch?v=zXdM1rqSlSQBlack Smoke Rising www.youtube.com/watch?v=vhbMbiYb5bgEdge of Darkness www.youtube.com/watch?v=TrIzgD9i7hU

4. Fast Romantics – American LoveFast Romantics showcase their top-tier musical talent in their new album “American Love”. The Canadian creatives behind the album are lead singer Matthew Angus, Jeffrey Lewis, Kirty, Kevin Black, Lisa Lorenz, and Nick McKinlay. Not only does the group display their inventive sounds and catchy hooks in “American Love”, but represent a symbolic lyricism, too. The album has metaphors galore, singing about more than just love, but politics and the world, also. “Is it a collection of love songs about politics or is it a collection of political songs about love?” - Angus of Fast Romantics. The 12 tracks that make up “American Love” were written over the past two years, specifically during the time when America’s politics were the talk of the town. Even though the group lives in Toronto. They can sure write a catchy indie pop tune that's for sure Julia www.youtube.com/watch?v=NDEdhNnO-28Get Loved www.youtube.com/watch?v=b4VTvF8RN_4Why We Fight www.youtube.com/watch?v=eli2I7mMvb8 Everybody's Trying to Steal Your Heart www.youtube.com/watch?v=mFHLLIqaLFc

2. Portugal. The Man - WoodstockI have to say I didn't see there success coming, they haven't even had a top 100 single across their 8 studio albums in the USA or the UK, even On March 3, 2017 when the band released "Feel It Still" it failed to chart both here and in the USA, it wasn't until nearly a year later it suddenly blew up charting at #3 in the uk and racking up 437 million Spotify plays, The Killlers, Foo Fighters, Kings of Leon, Muse can only dream of a top 40 single these days, I have no idea what happened. “There are many songs of ours we literally spent a full year working on,” groaned Zach Carothers, co-founder of the suddenly mainstream Oregonian/Alaskan band. “And that one — our biggest one ever — only took us about an hour. It’s crazy.” Feel It Still (Live Stripped Down Session) www.youtube.com/watch?v=F09POwrBn-MLive In The Moment www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hha0bwVvGmYSo Young www.youtube.com/watch?v=zzzffLkzNKYRich Friends www.youtube.com/watch?v=GN-xVSlnWKQ
