Once again a player who has been a key member of our first team gets poached by a higher-division club and I would really like to see "league-tying" players to prevent that from happening.
They already moved the transfer window mid-season, and they need to restrict movement in the January transfer window to players who are not getting sufficient games for their current clubs, and that would generally involve moving down to a weaker team more often than someone moving up the ladder.
Such a player could be signed for a new club but the transfer would be delayed until the end of the season and they would continue to play for their club (not as a loan player) in the interim.
I do think the board are very much to blame though when this is allowed to happen.

If a player is good enough to play in a higher division, why shouldn't they get the chance?

Yes - between seasons they can move club.
Mid-season, they can move only if they have not been picked sufficiently frequently for their existing club.

Who decides what is sufficiently frequently? no doubt it breaks EU law restricting a players right to move and god knows what other laws
The board should say if you want him in January you pay 80m and nobody gets transferred, the board wanted to sell for that amount in January so did
I am however not a fan of the January transfer window it has absolutely ruined West Ham's season with clubs offering 400k a week wages to players then pulling out and others wanting to move for a payday, half the squad is unsettled now, gone from beating Arsenal 3 weeks ago to move upto 8th on 31 points in just over half a season to losing to bottom of League 1 AFC Wimbledon and getting smashed 3-0 (Should've ben 10-0 by Wolves)

The January transfer window is great if your club signs a good player or off-loads a bad one. And it’s a terrible idea if a good player leaves or a bad manager rushes into panic signings.
For me it is just another way of the dice being rolled, and hence football being such an enjoyable entertainment industry.

Nobody has contracts that expire in January, they have contracts that expire at the end of seasons.
Bosman transfer law was simply a way that a player had the right, when his contract was up, to play where he wanted and could not be restricted by the club offering a fee.
Footballers are hired by contract and are not employees of their clubs.

Surely only being able to move in the transfer windows is a restraint of trade/movement as well? I preferred it when it was open all season, get a bad injury the day after it closes and what can you do? Pick up people out of contract, and maybe a loan, if the loan window hasn't been shut as well!

Having it open most of the season and an appearance restriction on movement (once they have played a number of games) with it shut just at the start.
Get a bad injury: if you don't have the reserves you'll have to find someone not currently getting enough first team football to play for you.
Player "out of favour" with the club can request a transfer and move. Big team comes poaching smaller team's top player: sorry you have to wait until next season.

West Ham 1 Liverpool 1
Are Liverpool doing a Kevin Keegan-era Newcastle? They were awful the other day against Leicester and were awful tonight. The team seems to have no confidence and appear to be bottling it when they could have been so far ahead of Man City. The liverpoolfc.com board has a lot of disgruntled posters.

They were lucky the linesmans eyes were painted on. You wont see a more blantent offside goal all season. Then he missed another one in the last minute which luckily Origi messed up. Can't wait until they bring in VAR

Dire fails to describe how poor our team played tonight. In many ways that was far, far worse than the Leicester match as we should have lost if the officials did their job properly (making up for the Leicester match where their captain should have seen red, and a stonewall penalty was ignored). Right now our emblem resembles: Omnishambles. Klopp allowing Clyne to go out on loan is going to cost LFC the title.

^ I still hope Liverpool can win the title but Klopp needs to get the team playing the type of football they were playing earlier in the season. As things stand Man City are going to overtake them when by now Liverpool could have been well ahead.

Not sure Klopp saying the officials were bent and favoured West Ham when they made one major error (And that was their goal), has endeered him to me, I dont know how true it is but on the radio they said Liverpool have been given 11 offside goals this season
Even in the last minute of stoppage time they missed another blatant offside that Origi messed up. Klopp is coming across very badly and has made himself a target, The officials were poor but they missed more that impacted negatively on West Ham than Liverpool, he is sounding like Mourinho

Everybody has a wobble when at the top of the table, it's how your players respond to it, there's a long way to go, lots of twists and turns to come and not just in the Prem after Leeds lost 1-3 to Norwich. Portsmouth stuttered in league 1 and Luton are now top, and Lincoln may be faltering in League 2, as for the Conference, any one of about 6 could take the automatic place with a good run of results.

I know Chelski hate Liverpool more than any other club in the EPL, but rolling over and being 4-0 down to Man City in the first 25 minutes is taking the P.

Man City seem to be rediscovering their form... and Chelsea seem to have not quite arrived yet,
Man City 4 Chelsea 0
And they've only been playing for 25 minutes. Now either Chelsea shut up shop and keep the score down or it'll be a rugby score. Needless to say Chelsea are looking awful and are all over the place.
