I'm sure Middlesbrough are more than capable of keeping that going.

It's a rugby pitch so it wasn't going to be great anyway.

It's a rugby pitch so it wasn't going to be great anyway. There's been a lot of debate about rugby on the Mad Stad pitch over the years. Personally i'm not convinced at all that it is as much of a factor as suggested, i'd say the weather and pitch are bigger issues. I've not seen any complaints about our pitch this season...we changed it summer before last.
Anyway, as I've got family connections to Newport pleased that they won should be a neutral if they're playing Mansfield at the weekend as I like both but given that Newport are going nowhere this season given the choice i'd rather Mansfield won.

So what is the point in having VAR in the FA Cup, if you dont use it? Swansea is a ground that is more than capable of using it. Man City cheat and dive for one penalty and goal, and then the winning goal is offside. And the commentators say Man City have shown "character" to come back from 2-0 down, no they haven't they cheated for one and got away with the other which would have been ruled out under VAR, just ridiculous. I assume the semis at Wembley will have VAR, bit horse bolted stable door really...

Haven't seen those incidents in the Swansea game yet but that's the issue I've got with VAR. Not being used at all games (I think it's only PL grounds?) doesn't sit right with me. I think I've read its to do with having the necessary cameras/facilities. We had VAR go against us in the Man Utd tie, it was the right call for me but if we'd drawn a lower league team or had a home game the original call would have stood for offside which was right, but the whole decision attracted plenty of debate on the highlights and on our forum.
To balance it out, I thought the decision to overturn the red card in the Wolves-Utd game last night was right. It was a yellow imo, though was it a clear and obvious error? On the replays I could see why a red was given, even if I think rightly or wrongly that Martin Atkinson can be quick to get his red cards out in big games!
