I'd love a Leipzig v Lyon final, but you just know it will be PSG v Bayern.

Still its a final we have never had before? PSG, Liepzig and Lyon have never been to the final before so its going to be more interesting than usual

What is even more puzzling is why they punish Macc for non payment of wages, and yet Bury waltzed to a promotion doing the exact same thing last year, but their players carried on playing, until they went pop in the close season! It was still non payment of wages! I think Mansfield suffered as they came 4th that season so would have got the 3rd automatic promotion spot? They then failed in the playoffs. I read that the reason Bury failed was they were dependent on Stewart Day's money as their outgoing was surplus to their income, and when his business went under he couldn't afford to fund them anymore. He sold to Steve Dale who didn't do his "due diligence" and then didn't want to fund the club, nor could another buyer be found. Had Steve Dale not taken over they'd have gone into administration anyway, but would have been that season so -12 and not sure what would have happened next. Of course the best thing to do would be to make their players available in the January transfer window and get what they can, use it to pay the remainder and have to recruit replacements at a wage they could afford. That is why we need to see better FFP rules.

And Spurs can say "look we're better than Barcelona, Bayern only beat us 7-2".
I'd 8-2 be a Barcelona fan right now..

Man Utd are struggling here, 2-1 down against Sevilla. They need to score! And it's into injury time.

As I've posted many times, I always support the British teams when we play in Europe. Come on Man Utd!

And it's over...
That's all the English teams out of both the European cups...

Premier League not quite as good as it thinks it is, or the media tell us it is...

This year looks like it could be a mixed bag in the two European finals and its nice to see some different names in there but English teams still dominate massively along with Spanish league who are ranked number 1 in the coefficient, its the first time since 2014/15 an English club hasn't reached the final in fact! going back further we have more than held our own so I don't think that's the case at all but other top teams are having a great seasons this year no doubt
2019/20 1 French, 1 German, 1 Italian and 1 Spanish (potentially) 2018/19 4 English clubs 2017/18 2 Spanish, 1 English, 1 French 2016/17 1 Dutch, 1 English, 1 Italian, 1 Spanish 2015/16 3 Spanish, 1 English 2014/15 2 Spanish, 1 Italian, 1 Portuguese 2013/14 3 Spanish, 1 Portuguese 2012/13 1 English, 1 Portuguese, 2 German 2011/12 2 Spain, 1 English, 1 German 2010/11 2 Portuguese, 1 English, 1 Spanish 2009/10 1 Italian, 1 English, 1 Spanish, 1 German 2008/09 1 Spanish, 1 English, 1 Ukrainian, 1 German 2007/08 1 Russian, 1 Scottish, 2 English 2006/07 2 Spanish, 1 Italian, 1 English 2005/06 2 Spanish, 2 English 2004/05 1 English, 1 Italian, 1 Russian, 1 Portuguese
In Terms of final appearances since 2004/2005
1. Spain 21 2. England 17 3. Italy 6 3. Germany 6 3. Portugal 6 6. French 2 6. Russia 2 8. Netherlands 1 8. Ukraine 1 8. Scotland 1
In terms of wins Spain are well ahead but there is no denying the English league is the next best, French teams haven't won anything since 1992, German teams 1 win in 20 years, Italian teams 2 wins since 2003
Euro/Champions League Wins in the last 15 year Spain 16 England 7 Italy 2 Russia 2 Germany 1 Ukraine 1 Portugal 1 France 0
I do think the gap is closing though and Spain are being caught too, all the top young players coming through seem to be in the Italian League, French, Dutch, German at the moment, its great to see and the tide might be turning but not quite yet

If PSG win the Champions League, that would leave just Rome and Berlin as the only capital cities of Europe's "big 5" leagues not to have had a club win the competition (or its predecessor).

Premier League not quite as good as it thinks it is, or the media tell us it is... Was shocked by the Man City score when I saw it this morning, though maybe shouldn't be as surprised, they did go out to Monaco at the same stage a few years ago? But tbh thought Man Utd might lose their game. Sevilla finished the season with 4 more points than Man U did apart from anything else.
