He shouldn't be dropped. He's still the best goal keeper we have. People keep going on about Forster because they saw him make some saves against Barcelona, but he's been far from convincing in the SPL, letting in a couple this season already that he really should be saving.
We've chucked in a rookie keeper in a vital qualifying match before and that didn't go well.

Both me and my dad really wanted to go and see the cycling as we couldn't get Olympic tickets or make the Paralympics, but we got none of our 16 attempts.

Elbow 'One Day Like This' Robyn 'With Every Heartbeat'
There are a few I probably like more than Robyn, however my second favourite song of the decade is already nominated and I'd rather not nominate something that people look at and think "huh?"

He's the only outfield player to play for someone who finished outside of the top 7 last season.
Edit: Was re: Shireblogger initial post about Lambert, didn't realise the thread had another page.

Wigan may have the community shield but they miss the first two rounds of the League Cup so it's not like it adds too much fixture congestion. For me they have by far the best squad in the Championship. If they can keep McCarthy, Maloney and McManaman they'd walk this league without Europe. Even Coyle (who I think is a very overrated and average manager) can't fail to take them to play-offs at a minimum. I'd be happy with a midfield of McCarthy and McArthur behind McManaman, Malanoey and McLean with Watson, Espinosa, Gomez, Beausajour and McCann ass back up if I supported a team aiming for about 10th in the Premier League!
I'm surprised by everyone's placing of Leeds. They've signed three players this summer and were poor last season. McDermott improved them a bit but not by so much they've become automatic promotion candidates. I know I'm probably biased but Mackie, Hobbs, Abdoun, Lichaj and Paterson into a top 8 team is a hell of a lot bigger improvement than Hunt, Smith and Murphy into a top 12 team, yet Leeds seem to be higher in everyone's predictions than Forest.
I predicted West Brom to go down because they ended last season awfully and their summer business has been woeful. Lost almost half their goals in Lukaku and Odemwingie (I assume) and have only signed Anelka (past it, hasn't scored regularly for three years) and Lugano (centre half where they have most quality and cover). Unfortunately I see them struggling all season.

I agree re: Chiles too. I loved him on Match of the Day 2 and his book following WBA is one of the best I've ever read, but since he moved he's about the dullest, dreariest TV presenter as you can get.

Motson used to be ok but he's completely lost it now, he makes so many mistakes and his voice goes too high too often at the sight of anything vaguely exciting. Tyldesley is awful too though.

Team: Nottingham Forest Division: Championship Greatest hope this season: Promotion Biggest fear: The fans getting restless after a poor run of form (particularly if we have a typical Billy Davies slow start) and the owner getting out his trigger finger again, and employing another McLeish-like donkey as manager. Best summer signing(s): Jack Hobbs, with Elliott Ward departing and Danny Collins showing he's probably past it last season a good centre half was desperately needed this summer. Someone young but with plenty of experience and quality was as good as I could've hoped for. Most important player: Chris Cohen, newly appointed club captain and player of the season last time out. We missed him so much when he was out injured for a year, he's going to be first choice left back now but he showed he has the quality to play there at this level. Terrace favourite: Adlene Guedioura. Fans love his passion and energy, and is capable of the spectacular. Young player to watch: With Billy Davies in charge of a club going for promotion it's hard to imagine any young players getting much of a chance. Jamaal Lascelles is tipped for a League 1 loan and Jack Blake has far too much infront of him in central midfield. Academy product Karl Darlow will hopefully stay as the number one and have another impressive season. Player you'd happily drive to his next club: Ishmael Miller, Guy Moussi and Danny Collins are all large wage drains. Jonathan Greening too but he's now going to help coach the academy side so I can't really include him. Matt Derbyshire's pre-season form saves him (just) from the list and I'll never understand why Marcus Tudgay was offered a new contract. One change you'd make at your club: For the manager to be more 'normal', only speaking to one journalist, completely shunning the local radio and paper, doing post-match press conferences before matches. It would also be nice if his agent (banned from practicing law) wasn't working as Chief Executive, Finance Director, Communications Officer etc. Have you got the right manager? Begrudgingly yes, for now. He's far from a favourite of mine and I don't think he's worth it overall but you can't argue with his record. I always feel with him it's just a matter of time until it all goes wrong behind the scenes. What advice would you give him? Stop turning everything into an agenda and just get on with the sodding job. Which team do you most want to beat this season? Derby of course, but QPR too. Best away fans: Sheffield Wednesday are always good, though we've lowered allocations this season. Best away ground to visit: Hillsborough is a good ground, decent location and a good atmosphere. Opposition player you despise: I'd say Lee Camp but he's without a club ( ) so Karl Henry will have to do. Opposition player you secretly admire: Grant Holt. I watch him and think what could've been. Why we played him on the wing I will never know. Where will you finish? Play-offs.

A nightmare football TV lineup would be Adrian Chiles presenting, Crooks, Robbie Savage and Michael Owen providing the 'expert' analysis, with Motty (just retire!) and Andy "For me, Clive" Townsend commentating.

You can sum up Scottish football by looking at where clubs sign there players from. Inverness finished 4th(?) last year and their summer signings have been from Luton, Coleraine, Hereford, Burnley (YT), Cheltenham, Kidderminster, Kendall Town, Ebbsfleet, Lincoln, Crewe (YT), Macclesfield and Brighton, one loan and the rest free transfers. It's pure bargain basement. Aberdeen are one of the biggest clubs in the country and their new star striker is Calvin Zola, 28 years old and spent the last four year in League 2!

This was an excellent read. Can't disagree with much, though I will never agree that Wolves sacking McCarthy was a wrong decision. It was totally the right decision at the time and they were going in only one direction - down as fast as they went. His reputation has been massively held up by the sheer incompetence of Jez Moxey and Steve Morgan in the eighteen months since.

I can't see past Watford for the Championship title. I wrote a preview for the Championship last weekend and said I could see at least 18 teams have a chance at the play-offs.

It's usually really quiet whilst the cricket is on as people work from home as there's nowhere to park! Well those that can do anyway. I've never known it so busy the last two days as everyone has been in the office doing what they need in the early part of the week and then won't be there for the rest. Unfortunately because of the Ashes test they've erected a new scoreboard which is a lot bigger than the one pictured, that one you could see over from the 3rd floor but this you can't from the 5th, which sadly means there are only about two desks you can actually watch the cricket from.
