Australia 299-8 at the close. England maybe slightly shading it but not much in it.

Poor score way short on this pitch 400 wicket at least I'm not so sure about that. If it had been a 400+ wicket, I think England may have chosen to bat first. That said, I can see the appeal of batting last against a bowling attack with no spinner.

As it has done throughout the series, the balance of power has swung over the course of the day but Chris Woakes takes 2 wickets in an over to leave Australia 255-7, the second coming from a worldie catch by Bairstow.

England win the final ODI against Australia to tie the women's Ashes series 8-8. England's 2-1 win in the ODI series is Australia's first ODI series defeat for 10 years. Although Australia retained the ashes by drawing the series, England actually won more matches - 4 to Australia's 3.

Real shame the ground was half empty for such a crucial women's ashes match, maybe the interest isn't really there, despite what the media is trying to sell us. The total attendance for the entire 2019 series, which had the same format, was 32,000. The total attendance for the first 3 games of this series was 63,000 so the interest is clearly growing.

It would seem they don't. CAF's attitude seems to be play each other or don't play at all. Similar in Asia, where North and South Korea have been drawn together on several occasions.

Watching a 1995 episode at the moment. There's no way they should've been letting poor Stephen Gateley sing live that early in Boyzone's run.

Another brilliant win for England's women tonight to level the Ashes series at 6-6 with two games to play. In the first of three ODIs, Australia batted first after winning the toss and made 263-8. England looked well on course to beat that but lost wickets regularly. However, Heather Knight's 75 not out and a rapid unbeaten 19 from Kate Cross batting at 10 saw England home with 11 balls to spare.
Batter Alice Capsey was a surprise star with the ball, taking 1-37 from her 9 overs, the best economy rate of all England's bowlers. England's main spinner Sophie Ecclestone took a one-handed catch of Ben Stokes proportions early in Australia's innings.
