Top 15 in charting order...
Boyz II Men - END OF THE ROAD (yes please!) Charles And Eddie - WOULD I LIE TO YOU? (hated them both but quite liked the song) Shamen - BOSS DRUM (loved the Shamen, bought all their singles) Vanessa Paradis - BE MY BABY (yeah not bad) Undercover - NEVER LET HER SLIP AWAY (loved them but this was mediocre)
Bizarre Inc - I'M GONNA GET YOU (great 90s dance anthem) Whitney Houston - I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU (it was amazing despite spending an obscene amount of time at no 1) Tasmin Archer - SLEEPING SATELLITE (her album was pretty decent) Take That - A MILLION LOVE SONGS (when Take That started to gain some credibility) Madonna - EROTICA (what an album... her best in my opinion!)
Felix - IT WILL MAKE ME CRAZY (Felix were quality!) Go West - FAITHFUL (loved all their 90s hits) Inner Circle - SWEAT (A LA LA LA LA LONG) (bought this - fun at the time) Undercover - BAKER STREET (hands down the best single of 1992 for me) Baby D - LET ME BE YOUR FANTASY (alright... if a bit overplayed)
I don't normally bother mentioning my hates, but Dr Alban... ughhh!

I must admit its been a while since I found a Toni Braxton that I liked. I think the last one was "He Wasn't Man Enough" - and that was a corker of a single! . However, the follow up "Spanish Guitar" was not. Agreed on all counts. The last Toni album I bought was the rather fantastic "The Heat" which had "Wasn't Man Enough" on. I wasn't keen on Spanish Guitar either. It was too much like Unbreak My Heart which I don't like either. However some good album tracks were Fairtytale, Gimme Some, You've Been Wrong and Just Be A Man About It. Unfortunately I've never been bothered to buy any of her later albums, though her Christmas album "Snowflake" always looks tempting around this time.

I can't believe Peter Andre had so many top 40 hits!?!? I remember Mysterious Girl but these others are just obscure! I must've blocked them all from memory - haha.

I was never a big fan but did love Manchild and Buffalo Stance.
From her overall career, I also liked "Under My Skin" (in a weird sort of way) and "Long Way Round" with Eagle-Eye.

Whoops! It's actually supposed to be Jump N Shout! LOVED JUmp n Shout!!! Basement Jaxx have always remained consistent for a dance act. Pure quality. 20 (9) Diana Ross - Not Over Yet The Metro single mix is my favourate Diana Ross song of all time! Pure class. Shouldn't this read "Not Over YOU Yet"? I liked this too - so many songs I forgot over the years. The mixes were great. I also remember thinking the song lyrics were "It's not a reunion".

Steps were great - well they were hit and miss for me... I either absolutely loved a song or completely hated it. There was never any middle ground. I did buy their first two albums though. I think it's Britney's voice I hate more than anything. I also bought "Sometimes" that year - so she had two finest hours for me. I liked Shaft - Sway too but didn't list it as I got sidetracked by the awful versions by PussyCatDolls etc. Now I've listened to it again I'll add it to my "likes".

1999... what a fun packed year! Some great ones on here... and some atrocious ones too.
6 (NE) Another Level - Bomb Diggy (happy times - their best) 10 (NE) Savage Garden - I Knew I Loved You (gorgeous - listened to this over and over) 13 (5) Mariah Carey - Heartbreaker (yes it sounded like Fantasy part 2 but I really loved this / great vid too) 24 (14) Destinys Child - Bug A Boo (their 2nd album defined the year for me) 29 (20) Britney Spears - (You Drive Me) Crazy (her finest hour, and I hate Britney) 31 (22) Onephatdeeva - In And Out Of My Life (got the clubs going... fab!) 33 (13) B*Witched - Jesse Hold On (okay so I bought and loved this) 34 (24) Jordan Knight - Give It To You (what a comeback, shame it didn't last) 40 (36) Gabrielle - Sunshine (love the lyrics especially the verses) 62 (48) Shaft - (Mucho Mambo) Sway
ps: The Honeyz were quite good but didn't like the song on this chart.

Okay I know I was only 2 and 1/4 but I feel I know the late 70s. Even as a young 'un I can vividly remember dancing around to the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack - courtesy of my older siblings. We even have homevideo footage of it. We also still have a taped VHS of the Jackson's "In The Snow" from 1978 of them singing Blame it On The Boogie on the piste... haha. It still plays to this day!
So here go my top picks from a great era... the late 70s... aaah!
In no particular order...
John Travolta & Olivia Newton John Summer Nights Boney M Rasputin - my family were big fans of Boney M Jacksons Blame It On The Boogie Crystal Gayle Talking In Your Sleep - not her best song but I do love her Queen Bicycle Race - reminds me of my cousin who was a big Queen fan Olivia Newton John Hopelessly Devoted To You - best song on the chart! Adore this! Frankie Valli Grease - another corker... the funky opening titles of Grease come straight to mind

OK, i didn't buy the Dirty Dancing Soundtrack and i have to confess i have never even watched the movie!! Not sure if the movie's stood the test of time as I haven't seen it in decades. The soundtrack was good if you liked the 60s throwback sound of the late 80s. Stuff like "She's Like The Wind" is a bit naff though.

I remember this time period very well. This is when I first started recording vhs videos of my own and I remember watching the UB40 and Level 42 vids over and over. I actually grew up in Malaysia where the charts were more geared towards the US. Anyway here are my very top picks...
Something About You - Level 42 (what a fantastic track!) Part-Time Lover - Stevie Wonder (this is on my "Fave 80s mp3s" cd) Body Rock - Maria Vidal (wow forgot all about this - thanks for the reminder) Angel - Madonna (love love love this! reminds me of holidays gone by) A Good Heart - Feargal Sharkey (my very first 7" vinyl) Love Take Over - Five Star (ahhh the ultimate, not their best single but great nonetheless) Don't Break My Heart - UB40 (I think I quite fancied him on the swing - haha)

I loved the reruns in the 90s of the premiere seasons with Tucker Jenkins etc. I reckon these will be great nostalgia!
