Feel Good Inc was ok but DARE was way better. I'm with you on On Melancholy Hill but my fave single of theirs is Stylo, shame that didn't chart.

Love "Empty Souls", I'm pretty surprised that got to No.2 back then, one of their understated songs I bought the reissue of Razorlight's album, after Somewhere Else had came out, and a couple of friends were peeved because they bought the album first time round, without that track.

"Love Of Richard Nixon" isn't one of the Manics' best songs, but I quite liked their next single that followed, which we'll see in 2005.

The 2nd Libertines album was emotional, especially on tracks like "Music When The Lights Go Out", and their final single "What Became Of The Likely Lads", but also the timing of that album coming out was just after Pete got sacked from the band and when it got to No.1, the band was pretty much over. But over the next year, a wave of great new bands and artists were to take over (I think Myspace played a part in it) and things were about to get very exciting :-)

The only time that Oasis released a double a-side, but I don't think She Is Love even got any airplay. I prefer Little By Little, probably one of the best songs Noel has written and sang on and the best track on Heathen Chemistry.

I like SCYHO, it's a song that I've turned to in times of despair and it just seems to get bigger even now.
"By The Way" good song from a good album, I think "Dosed" should have been the 2nd single rather than "Zephyr Song". I saw them at Murrayfield Stadium, Edinburgh 2 years later which turned out to be quite a disappointing gig, and then after that their albums since just haven't been as good.
I bought "In My Place" in the week that it came out and was even convinced it was going to be their first No.1. Was given AROBTTH on christmas day, great album, but I've gone off them in the last year too.

TOP OF MY WANT TO SEE LIST: I'm kind of semi retired to seeing gigs at the moment.... but I guess Nerina Pallot. I saw Nerina Pallot at Glasgow's ABC in 2005, and she did the whole gig herself, with no backing band. Some songs she'd do on guitar and some on piano. My highlight of the night was her rendition of "Confide In Me", such an amazing gig.

Agreed on the Super Furry Animals, just bought Dark Days/Light Years a couple of weeks ago, to complete the collection. Love their albums.

Take That star Gary Barlow is among those who have criticised pop videos. He said: “Music videos are so sexual these days. It all filters down.” Says the guy who got his backside out for his band's first video.

I remember an interview with Sophie and she explained that Michael's "You Rock My World" video was inspired by her video for "Take Me Home", which he had seen and had loved the 50's style of it.

For Blur B-sides, it has to be "Young And Lovely". Could have been on "Modern Life Is Rubbish" but their manager felt it was "too poppy" and instead put "Turn It Up" on the album. Terrible mistake!

I can't wait for this Great to have the Creation-era ep's and some extras all on one compilation, and most of all finally looking forward to the reissues of both albums :-)
